So who's waitlisting for December already

I just had my waitlist for a 1-BR Boardwalk View for 12/26 come through yesterday. Now if my waitlist for 12/31 would come through, I'd be one happy camper!

I am waitlisted for a studio at VWL over Christmas. It is my home resort and I didn't think to try at 11 months out because I'm not sure I can go. I went on the list at 10 months. I will rent it out if I get it and can't use it. I'm sure someone would love it!
I'm also waitlisted to add on points at BCV. I am developing OCD checking every day to see if either came through!

We are still on a wait list for Dec 10th. We are waiting for a 1 BDR at BWV. We were able to get the 11th - 15th, but not the 10th. We have a reservation at our home resort of OKW for the 10th, but would prefer not to have to move, since we are already planning to have to move for the last 2 nights of our trip 15th - 17th back to OKW in a studio.

Is anyone else out there on a wait list for Dec 10th? I booked at the 7 month window, but I do not have a good feeling about this night coming through.

I was able to get a 1 bedroom pool/garden view for December 10 at the 7 month mark, and my waitlist for boardwalk view came through a couple weeks ago!

A couple days ago I made reservations for Dec 31st-Jan 9th... I tried to get a studio for the 31st (to save 19 pts!) then switch to a one-bedroom for the remainder...

But studios are waitlisted at both SSR and OKW for the 31st. I was able to get the one-bedroom for that night but it was "limited availability". I'm waitlisted for a studio to open up. We'll see...

This year, we were there from Jan 7th-15th and encountered small crowds... I expect that for our Jan 2007 trip, it'll be busy on the 1st (not worried about the 31st as we'll get there in the evening) but hopefully it'll quiet down soon afterwards.

This is all so frustrating to me. We just bought DVC in December. The guide told us we'd have no problems getting any place we wanted, because December is so slow, for what we want which is a studio or a 1 bedroom. Well, joke's on me, because I believed him. We have a reservation for for the 1-8 at SSR. At the 7 month mark I called to request a room at Beach Club or Boardwalk. Nothing. So, I'm on a waiting list.

madi, i hope that your wl comes through, i think that it is too early to give up hope, but i have seen on another thread that this sales tactic is frustrating to more than just you, we were also pretty well assured that we would be able to get wdw resorts when we wanted them when we bought, but i think that was more true when there were three wdw resorts not sold out, as opposed to one that more people are buying and not wanting to stay at. not sure why everyone seems to be dissatisfied with ssr, but that is the perception going around here. not trying to start something that has been carried on on another thread, but just stating what i have seen others say.

anyway, i want to encourage you, your wl choice may still come through, we'll believe the best for you. we got the ones we wanted and we were asking alot, i think.

Our next couple of trips we wanted to try somewhere different and chose BCV (BWV would have been okay too) because of our plans with F & W in October and all the holiday stuff in December. Plus we are on the dining plan and most of the restaurants we want to try are in Epcot. Most of our waitlists have come through with the exception of a couple of days in October. I try to stay where our plans indicate. I actually prefer SSR over OKW because of location and the resort itself. Next summer we are toying around with the idea of two weeks @ WDW and will probably pick SSR because it does make us feel at home. Very quiet and peaceful.

madi you will be happy no matter where you stay all the resorts are special in their own way. Good luck on your waitlist.

I think SSR is beautiful, and I can't wait to stay there. However, it's just DH and myself and we are planning on spending a lot of time at Epcot and that area. If we do end up at SSR, we will be happy. It will be nice to be able to walk to DD and hop a bus to another resort or even just hang around DD. Either way we'll be happy, except for the fact that we have to use this waitlist thing. I could understand it if we wanted a grand villa, but we just want a studio.

I'd just hold on. I think you may see a lot more movement closer to December. When the 31 days out hits I think you may see cancellations. I think a lot of members schedule this time on the off chance that they can go. Then plans change and people cancel. We'll see...

We are still holding hope that our VWL waitlist will come through eventually!
