So, who's looking forward to...

What's wrong with that? That was one of the more fun aspects of the movie :)

It was obvious -- and amusing. :) Heck -- that was the better part of the film -- looking for the Disney tie-ins. :jester:

As USF PAP holders, we can view Shrek 2. along with a character breakfast. (For a fee of course)
We mulled it over and decided to pass, although the pricing was not unreasonable.
The first was okay. Nothing great. But work watching on DVD. Nothing that enticed us to go to a theatre to see #2.

Many people who have seen previews of the second one say it's better than the first. I hope so because I can't wait to see it!

As for sidekicks being more memorable than title characters, that's not so unusual. Mulan was like that IMO and unfortunately some recent movies have NO memorable characters. Atlantis anyone?

With two DD ages 8 and 5 I am only allowed to see movies with talking animals. So, I have to go see it.

I'm looking forward to seeing it with my DD's 9 and 5. The first 5 minutes preview shown on Nickelodeon was amuzing. They must have parodied over five movie bits in five minutes. The 'From Here to Eternity' scene with the mermaid (Ariel) was very obvious and very funny. I hear that Lord Farquad (M. Eisner) will be missed.

What is most discouraging is hearing that Dreamworks has Shrek 3 in development and is targeting Shrek 4 for 2008. Katzenberg is planning on riding Shrek into his personal Mickey Mouse.

I still think Monsters Inc. should have received the Oscar.
