So who's hit the sales for next years gifts already??

I'm not finding much out there either and I just got back from Kohls. I got some jewelry for a gift exchange and a hat and scarf but I wouldn't say I got them for a steal. I got gift receipts because Kohls will let you return things a year later. I also try to stock up on teenager gifts for my girls friends birthdays and Christmas presents but just didn't see anything. Like another poster I'm starting a Christmas club account so I'll have the money next year to do my shopping after Thanksgiving.

I stopped buying gifts year round a few years ago. I only shop for 8 nieces & nephews, my dad & my sister. The kids would change their minds a lot, so I'd end up with things they didn't want anymore. And once a lot of stores got tough on returns, that made it hard too. Nowadays, the kids get a check (which they all prefer, since they are always saving for some big thing), and sister & dad get gift cards. Much easier--always fit right, nobody complains, and I stick to my budget.

not really a super deal but I have been stocking up on the little what not's from Wal-Mart's clearance for goody bags for my ds's classes next year at school and church.. got Christmas game books, slinkies, erasers, Rudolph nose's, pencils, bead necklaces and a few other things. the only thing I haven't been able to find are the bags to put the goodies in :confused3 on clearance. oh well.

The main one I am holding off buying for is my nephew who will be 8. Because I never know what phase he will be in I don't want to buy toys that he won't be in too. I did buy a wii game that was marked down to $5 on best buy so that went into the box.

I actually sat down last night and made a list of items that I know I am going to buy (except for my dad because he is impossible).

I wish it were christmas already:lmao:

Scored a second gift for each of my kids today (and I wasn't even planning to) - a wooden food and plate set for $8 (regularly $20) at Bed Bath for DD (she has a wooden kitchen but this set is not like anything else she's got) - and a Ninjago Lego set for DS at Shop Rite ($3.99 for 71 pieces, not awful). I'll put these away and Hanukkah is 1/4 done.

We have pretty much decided DD's big present next year will be a Leappad - not sure about DS. We were thinking about an Ipod Touch but now we are probably going to get it for him in June if he can save 1/2 and keep getting the great report cards he's had so far. (He is in third grade). He's also trying to save some allowance money for Florida though...

Those are good deals you scored! Especially on the Legos:thumbsup2
