I wasn't even referring to his names resemblence to Osama. I was referring to the fact that it is not a traditional American (Read: white sounding) name. Minority and women and people with unique names are elected to all manner of public office because they are elected in by pockets of diversity, but just not to the Presidency. Im not saying I agree with it, I do not, but I'm unfailingly pragmatic about politics. I just do not think a black man named Obama is likely to be elected President in America in the next 50 years.
I understand your point. I was just putting it out as to how it's been said around Illinois and the name reference. His dad was (he is deceased) an economist from Kenya. The leader of Kenya called him today to congratulate him on his victory.
And it didn't copy but the reference that was made about Obama running against Keyes, I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. But he was high in the polls before Jack Ryan pulled out. And it didn't help that people were ticked because the Republicans brought in a guy from MARYLAND!!!!!! He wasn't even from Illinois!
