I was just wondering who noticed the new sponsorship, it will eventually be for the Illuminations and also Space Ship Earth. They are replacing GE as sponsors.

Just Wondering Dave

Yes, Siemens is the new SE and Illuminations sponsor, not Sylvania. The Osborne Festival of Lights is amazing though! We loved it!

I beleive the Seimens name will actually go on Spaceship Earth. With GE owning NBC and Disney owning ABC, it's not hard to see why that alliance is gone.

OK, GE never sponsored SpaceShip Earth. SSE was sponsored by AT&T, Illuminations was sponsored by GE. Now Siemens will be the sponsor of both Illuminations and SSE. Sylvania is a division of Siemens, they will be the sponsor for the Spectacle of Lights.

Yes my oversite about the Siemens/SYLVANIA naming. OSRAM SYLVANIA is a division of Siemens, I work in lighting and we sometimes use the names interchangeably.

Sorry about that Chief

I loved the Osborne Festival of Lights! We went a few days ago, and we made it in time to watch the lights come on, and it was so beautiful. I even got a little teary eyed because I've never seen anything like it before. Great times, but I can't help to think how outrageous their electric bill must be!

Its bad, but it's nothing when compared to WDW's normal electrical usage. The amount of electricity needed to operate Test Track or Tower of Terror for example would blow your mind. Thats why Disney owns its own power company Reedy Creek Energy Services.
