Both DH and I are off tomorrow, although he is due to finish at 2am I am sure it will be later! Then I am back at work on Boxing Day, although I did volunteer to work that day.

Claire ;)

This is the first xmas ive had off for 2 years. Although i was able to work form home which made it lightly better!
I finished Xmas eve and go back to work on Monday.

My bf worked Christmas day, it was triple pay and a total doss (his words!) plus it was only 8-3 so he could still have dinner with us :goodvibes He would have worked boxing day aswell but it was already covered. While we don't have kids I wouldn't think twice about working over Christmas, though my sector doesn't tend to operate on bank holidays.

DW did a night shift on Christmas Day. She started at 8pm and finished 7am Boxing Day. I had to give her a lift into work and pick her up too so only one glass of wine for me Christmas Day :-(

I worked Christmas Day and Boxing Day and will work New Year's Eve. I should have worked New Year's Day as well, but have decided to take a day leave.

2am ?! what do you do?

my dh doesnt work Christmas Day but every day around it he does, he works 7 days a week between Dec10th and Jan 14th - and his days are 7.30am to 8pm - so Christmas Day is his only day off for over a month. Its the busiest time for him so no choice, he's used to it, he always loses weight this time of year!

I hope anyone who worked over Christmas had a pleasant time and it wasn't too bad :)

New Year's day should be interesting at work!!

Claire ;)

Police! So we can work any hours, any day of the year.

Claire ;)

good on you! I went through the application process for the force, but pulled out when I decided to turn pro at golf instead - slight difference in choice! Since then I've been involved quite alot with the police ..... most often in the form of a yellow speeding ticket:laughing:

I'm one of the lucky ones as the firm I work for closes down for a week over Christmas and New year and i always tag some hols on so I usually end up with almost 3 weeks!

So far my DH has also always had Christmas off too - usually a week - so we're very lucky.:cool1:

Im back to work tomorrow, but my daughter was back in yesterday and today, thats retail for you:)

I'm back on Wednesday, I would have been back on Boxing day but I have had leave booked. Having said that I wouldn't have been back until the 12th had my new job training had come thorugh, instead it has been pushed back until February.

DH is going back tomorrow and I'm at home as usual so the bonus is I have both my girls with me for this week :cool1: :cool1:
DH is consumed with jealously:upsidedow

I hope it's not too tough for all of you going back tomorrow.
