Just wondering if anyone has actually rented the Chevy Equinox lately.
It seems like it has been such a good deal that so many people were renting them. I am looking for people who did rent them already and have returned.
How where they?
Where they in good condition?
How was luggage space?
Do they drive nice?
Any with sunroofs?
Do they have the directional signs (north/south) in the mirrors?
Has anyone been given something besides an Equinox?

Any other info anyone may want to add.

Thanks, YO

I had an equinox reserved last December, they substituted the Pontiac version (Torrent?) it drove well and was in excellent condition. Plenty of luggage space for the two of us with a wheelchair. I don't think there was a sunroof, but it did have XM radio. I don't remember the turn signals in the mirror, but that does seem to be pretty standard with new GM products, so I am assuming it has them.

Great thread! We have one reserved for this Aug. and was wondering the same. I hope there's some more replies.

We rented from Alamo Feb 28 - March 7 a gold/tan colored Chevy Equinox. We own a Toyota 4-Runner, VW Cabriolet, & Honda Element..and we are used to driving larger to smaller-this is what we thought about the Equinox.
1. Very roomy front seats (even more so then the 4Runner or Element)
2. Tank of gas lasted the whole week of back & forth & going out every night.
($38 to fill up returning-this at 2.45 rate)
3. Plenty of room in 2nd row. (We had ds's big car seat and there was enough room for 2 more children-or 1 more car seat comfortably)
4. Plenty of luggage space. (We had 2 large suitcases, 1 Graco full size stroller, 2 carry on sized bags, duffle bag)
We will travel in this sized rental car everytime, as we are used to the space day to day. The back seat was a mess, not nasty, but it showed signs of being a rental. There were stains from spilled whatever, but clean otherwise. We just sat ds's carseat in the area, which is what I imagine was done before. There was xm radio, power everything, no sunroof, no signals in the side mirrors, and excellent air conditioning. Have Fun!

We had one for our april trip. It was larger than I thought, we had 2 adults and 3 kids (8,6,4). Our luggage fit fine. 2 large suitcases, 1 carry-on, 1 small stroller and 2 back packs. We had no sunroof, no turn signals in the mirrors and no compass. The condition was fine - only 500 miles or so. The turning ratio was pretty bad but other than that I'd rent one again in a heartbeat. Especially for the price! :thumbsup2

I have one reserved for 12 days soon, looking forward to seeing what i end up getting. Any more details would be great!

We too have it booked...used to driving a Rendezvous.

Does the back seat seperate & fold partially down to increase cargo area?

We rented one last week, except there were none. We got a Buick Rendevous instead, and we were very happy with it. Tons of luggage area, and handled nicely, or so hubby said.

Thanks for the great info. :thumbsup2 I sure am hoping for the compass directions in the mirror though or some place. Here we have the mountains to our west and I can always tell what direction I'm going. I get our east and I get lost too easily. Jerseygirl sounds like it's pretty good on gas too! Glad to hear that.

DMRick & Chuck S, the other vehicles you got were they considered upgraded vehicles or is the Torrent & Rendevous just the other midsize SUV alternative? :teeth:

Thanks, to everyone. Anyone else have any experience with this vehicle.

Thanks, YO

Just got back Sat. All they had were the Buick Rendezvous and a Jeep. We took the Rendezvous. It was VERY nice - leather seats, sunroof, and wood grain. It looked brand new inside and out.

My friend said it drove really nice (I try to avoid driving as much as possible).

The back seat folded down, so there was plenty of room for luggage.

Yo Coachyo - is there a deal on these things? If so could you PM me the code or coupon or whatever? OT - were you surprised by the draft? Tennessee and NO should be interesting to watch. I'm not too impressed with who we picked :confused3 up but I'll try to reserve judgement. Have a good trip and remember the sun rises in the East and sets in the West (and if it's noon punt).
