So, who has an interesting story about getting stuck on a ride?

Only stuck _on_ the ride a couple of times:

- on California Screamin, the ride stopped with our car about 30 feet from the load/unload zone for about 30 minutes. They eventually got us moved into the unload area so we could get out. Much better than the other cars stuck on the hills, though--they had to climb down the stairs from the track.

- on Splash Mountain, the ride stopped just as we were leaving the loading area. Had to sit there for 20 minutes while they figured out how to get us out of the log since we were just past the loading area, but not into the water yet.

- not really stuck, but we dined at Blue Bayou and were the last ones out. At that point they had turned on the house lights to clean the restaurant. We could see the tracks and all in the first area of PoC. They stopped us from taking photos, though.

I've been stuck on a couple but nothing major.
On youtuvbe there were two very funny videos
one was where they were stuck on pooh in the psychedllic room with no sound, not even the people in the ride were talking, all of the sudden you hear the person behind the camera whisper "It's really quiet"

The second one I can't find anymore but it was from Splash mountain at DW and this family was stuck at what looks like right after the hiil on a level area as you turn a corner. The dad was a comedian he kept on like he was reporting and the Disney people would be coming along soon with their pixie dust to put them all to sleep and have them forget all about what happened then he made fun of their costumes it was really hilarious.

Going to go see if I can find them again.

EDIT: Found the Winnie the Pooh one

really wish I could find the other one it was hilarious

Pirates...it's was right before it went down for awhile for refurb....we were stuck for over 2 hours. :scared1: we stopped right as we were going into the burning section under the bridge with the pirate guy dangling his leg. They DID NOT turn off the music, just turned it down and turned on the light. They had CM come out in wading pants to push the boats to locations we could disembark. We were towards the end so we were one of the last boats off. We were WAY backstage, walked down by some CM break room and came out over by the bathrooms in NOS. It was pretty wild! LOL we got a front of the line pass but it was about 15m to closing so we just left. i should've asked if we could have one for another day since we had AP but didn't think about that until after. My DD wouldn't ride it for quite awhile after that. :rotfl:

We also got stuck on Indy not to long ago for about 45 mins. We were in the sections with all the skeletons. They had CMs getting people out of the vehicles right away, we just had to wait our turn. We had two people in our car FREAKING out!! LOL this lady was trying to wiggle out and kept saying get us out of here. Haha we ended up having to walk out. We got another front of the line pass for that one too. :woohoo:

I am happy to report that I do not. Last month my paralyzed daughter and I had just been seated on Splash Mountain when the ride went down suddenly. We would've been stranded 30 seconds later, and the fire department would've had to rescue her as I cannot carry 100#.

Actually I do have one to report. Last month we got on the Railroad at Tomorrowland and were placed in the second to last car (the Lily Belle was behind us with some Club 33 members) because of my daughter's wheelchair. When we got to the Main Street Station, they made everyone get off for some unknown reason, and we had to stay there while they figured out what to do with us, as the Main Street Station has no way for wheelchair-bound guests to exit. After maybe 10 minutes they gave us a private train ride to the New Orleans Station (where we had wanted to go in the first place), which makes me wonder why everyone else had to get off at the previous stop. :confused3

About 6 years ago we got stuck on splash mountain! It was right after the drop where all the animals are singing that happy song, and the female birds are dancing on the boat (best way I could descripe that scene!). They turned off all the sound, but the animals kept moving. Anyways, we hungout there for awhile and then finally had to walk off. It was pretty funny, the CM was really grumpy and my mom kept taking pictures as we walked off (among other people, atleast half of the boat had their camera's out!) and EVERYTIME someone would take a picture she would literally shout "NO PICTURES" just over and over again. We ended up going out through a hidden door and into the back stage type area that holds all the machines that power the ride and some spare boats! It was really cool to see what goes on behind the magic, and may have been one of my favorite disney experiences. Except the grumpy cast member! C'mon, we missed the fireworks because of this, atleast let us get some pitures out of it! ;)

DD and I have gotten stuck on Mr. Toad, Indy, and Big Thunder. Each time we the ride stopped, we had to wait for a cm to get us, and then we had to walk out.

A friend and I were there and got stuck on HM. That was by far the coolest.:cool1:

We got stuck in the room with Madame Leota (sp). All the lights came on and we had to walk out. I was disspointed that we had to walk out the way we came because I wanted to go throught he attic and graveyard area, lol.

We were stuck on PoC for about an hour or so. We were on one of two boats that was in a spot where they couldn't get us off. The fire department eventually had to come and rescue one person who couldn't fit up the narrow stairway we were finally evacuated from.

Thankfully they shut the music off (and we all cheered) and the lights came on. We were taken backstage through many hallways and saw a big break room and what appeared to be a lot of food staff working. It did kind of kill the magic for me but I am slowly forgetting it, haha. We were given a fast pass for any ride that day.

I DO!! This last trip, in November, we had checked in for our Fantasmic! dessert seating and had almost an hour until show time, so OK, no line for Pirates, let's ride..I said..wouldn't it be funny if we got stuck...and then..stuck! We were the first boat in the stuck line..maybe 4 or 5 behind us? I dunno. Anyway, we were just entering the room where the guy and donkey are and the yo ho song. So first a canned voice is saying" rough seas ahead" or something..over and over..then a CM voice "Pirates shut down immediately" or close to that..over and over. Meanwhile, my son is saying "Don't worry..still 40 minutes until show".."30 minutes till show" etc". They finally turn off the darn music..applause all around. Then lights come on, a CM appears and says she
is going to get us off..this took awhile as they had to wrangle a bunch of people from different places to escort us. We finally get escorted off to the side, very slowly and carefully as folks had to step over boat seats to reach the exit point. We all walked up a bunch of stairs and ended up on some roof with lots of duct work. We had been telling CMs we has F! tickets and they did try to move thgings along, but while we were on the roof we heard the F! music start :( We waited on the roof for quite awhile, then we were escorted thorugh lots of areas, behind scenes of F&B alleyways, security cars with lights on and officers waving us on with flashlights, we encountered many CMs along the way I guess blocking doors or something as they were kind of just watching us. My DH told a plaid we walked by that we were missing our F! seating and he then took charge and hustled us out and to the F! check in point where he explained to the CM what happened. They offered us another night (not possible since that was the only night F! was playing while we were there) and then offered us to return at the 10:00 showing. We had three little kids with us, and had been on the train all night the night before, but we jumped at that, did NOT ride anything between the 2 shows, were all awake and happy for the show and have a great story. We also got a bunch of 'anything' (except Mansion and Space) fastpasses that we didn't even use up. We avoided Pirates until the last day and ended our trip with one more..not malfuncioning...ride on it :)

Was this Nov 4??? That was our stuck day.

This probably doesn't belong on this board since I assume you only want disneyland rides but since you didn't specifically mention only DL, I will share my only time I got stock back in WDW.

In the Animal Kingdom we got stuck on Dinasour!! First let me tell you that this ride is pretty scary and intense while its normally operating. We just so happened to get stuck for about 10minutes right in front of one of the scary T-rex's!! Worst part was that they kept the ride in the dark and never turned on the lights. SO the whole time we are in the dark starring at this huge dinasour:confused3

Finally the ride turned on and the dinasour moved and freaked us all out!!:rotfl:

In September, we got stuck on splash mountain. We had to walk off the ride. We were stuck right before the drop. It was fun getting to walk around and see everything and actually see everything up close.

I'm jealous...I would love to get stuck on Splash Mountain or PoC and have to walk out through the secret passages.

I would definitely NOT want to get stuck on the Submarine ride....I think that would be the absolute worst.

I too have a story, but it's from WDW. The Carousel of Progress broke down while DM and I were on it. We kept listening to the section we were stuck in over and over and people kept using the exit doors to leave which would shut down the system again and the CM on the overhead was SCREAMING telling everyone to stay in their seats. We were stuck for about 45 minutes. Finally we were able to move to the next scene and then exit.

I got stuck on SM with my uncle years ago and they turned on the lights. We were on the lowest track in the building. They let us stay on to ride again but, they never turned off the lights again

Whoops! Just noticed this was a Disneyland thread. I was stuck on Monster's Inc and had to walk out. Over at WDW, I rode Space Mountain with the lights on. I will NEVER raise my hands again on that ride! The track is really, really close overhead. We stalled on Thunder Mountain on one of the hills and had to be evacuated though the inside of the mountain. I was stuck on Splash Mountain right under the "Laughing Place? I'll show you a Laughing Place!" vultures for about 30 minutes. have also been stuck on Winnie the Pooh and Small World.

A lot of times things seem like they might be unsafe, but they use all sorts of tricks. One of them what looks like and overhead obstruction that looks like you might hit it on a descent. It may look to be almost at your head at eye level, but in reality it's probably at least 6-8 feet over your head by the time you reach it.

Since you're talking about SM, I remember a friend used to think it must have been one of the fastest rides at Disneyland at the time. He though it hit at least 55 MPH. I remember seeing some statistics on it, and the top speed is actually about 30 MPH with an average speed of about 25 MPH. They have lights that comes towards the rider that give an illusion of going faster. I get a similar sensation when I'm in a car that's lower to the ground. 50 MPH in a Honda Civic feels a lot faster than 65 MPH in a minivan.

We got stuck on pirates years ago and were walked off the ride. I don't remember much of it but I do remember walking through the kitchen area of blue bayou. On the last couple of trips we've been stuck on Haunted mansion 2-3 times, the best was in front of the ballroom once regular hm, once Nightmare. Got stuck in the graveyard once too-- that was fun. Husband and son got stuck on the matterhorn and were walked off. We did the single rider lines and I was just off when they got stuck darn it. They got to see the inside and were told no cameras, plus we got 2 front of the line passes which you use at the exits so that was cool. I was really jealous of their stuckedness.....

We got stuck on Jungle Cruise! That was a first. The boat just stopped and wouldn't start again. We had to wait for the boats ahead of us to get back so a tow boat could come get us. Got some front of the line passes for all the "trouble."
