So who else lives in a solid Red or Blue state?

Is your stae ignored in the Presidential race?

  • Not at all - They're wooing us all of the time.

  • Slightly ignored - The have some adds but not many.

  • Totally ignored - They know who we're voting for so why bother advertising here.

  • Other - Just because.

I live in Maryland and there is no chance at all of our electoral votes going to anyone but Obama. Of course since the Maryland vote was decided long before the candidates were even determined we don't get any attention from the candidates.

So does anyone else feel ignored? :)

BTW...yes is should be ads not adds.

Illinois is solidly blue because of the Chicago metropolitan area. There are plenty of Republicans in the collar counties and downstate but they are very outnumbered.

I live in a traditionally red state that is one of the battleground states this go around.

I feel like our state is ignored in regards to rallies and such. I live in a blue state :(

NY is totally blue - not many ads here - a few for Obama none for McCain

I selected other just to stir the pot.:stir: Just kidding. We just moved from California (a blue state) to Kansas (a red state). We're not totally ignored though because we are a suburb of Kansas City, and only 5 minutes from the Missouri border. Since Missouri is a toss up state right now, we are are pretty much bombarded on t.v.

Hey, if you're in KC - there's a great place in Leavenworth to eat - High Noon Saloon - they have some GREAT micro brews there and great food.

I'm in MD too. I was surprised when Erlich was elected into office, but I honestly think that there were just more people that didn't want a female governor (Sauerbrey) than there were that didn't want a Republican Gov.

Although at the local and state level virtually all our elected politicians are democrats, generally speaking, I believe Kentucky usually goes to the republicans in national races. I think that's because a democrat in KY is usually a bit conservative, by national standards anyway. The people seem to vote conservative rather more than party lines.
I think we're not terribly important either way though because our population is low enough that we have relatively few electorial votes.
We're just not big enough to fight over. And that's fine by me because I hate political ads with a passion. I think they are so busy trying to make the other guy look bad that they spread more mis-information than information.

I'm in Oregon. We can be a battleground state, but it's extremely likely we're going blue again this year. Obama's lead in polls ranges from 5-12% and I don't think McCain has ever led in the polls here, even with his Palin bump.

I'm on the rural side of the state which does tend to be more conservative; I see a few McCain ads on television, but mostly Obama ads. We do have campaign headquarters for both candidates (well, we have a Democratic headquarters, an Obama office, and a Republican headquarters - I don't think we have a McCain-specific office).

Obama did come to our area in the primaries, which is virtually unheard of - presidential candidates never comes to our side of the state to campaign. Plus that huge 75,000 person rally was in Portland this year, so he hasn't really ignored our state. I don't think either one of them will be back before the election, though, given the likelihood of it going for Obama. The Republican headquarters opened up last weekend and since then I've seen lots of political yard signs for both candidates (or I did, until the Obama signs underwent a massive hit of theft that's been reported this past week, including my own).

I'm in Texas, which is pretty red with big blue areas around Houston and Austin, so yep we're pretty ignored down here after the primaries. Suprisingly both Clinton and Obama had big rallies here in Houston.

Well, I'm in Florida. 'Nuff said. :rotfl:

From my understanding of everything, North FL is traditionally conservative; South FL the exact opposite. However, we who live from Tampa to Orlando can swing either way.

We do have our fair share of ding-a-lings here, but I hope we can prove in this election that we actually can vote without problems, no matter how it turns out! :rotfl2:

Don't you mean ding-a-lins? ;)

I'm in Virginia, which has been red for decades but has taken on a fairly purple hue in recent years. Television ads, phone calls, you name it, we're seeing it.

Unfortunately I live in an extremeley blue state that will probably never change. I always vote, but I feel like it's pretty pointless.

Massachusetts unfortunately. I feel totally ignored living in a dark DARK blue state. I've said its really not worth me voting except for the fact that we've instilled values into our 10 yr old and it would be hard to explain to her why we weren't voting.
