We're now a week into the holiday season... where's the in-park Holiday Quest?

I have friends leaving for Disneyland tomorrow. I hoped to be able to print them up a copy of the quest before they left, but now that doesn't seem likely.

Doesn't it usually seem that the VMK stuff lags way behind when it should be released? The in-park Pirates quest started at least two or three weeks past when the Pirates 2 movie and ride refurb opened... the VMK pins were supposed to be released on November 14, but a handful appeared on November 11 and a few more on the 14th and no more have been seen in any pin stores since then... it kind of seems like there's not very good communication between the people who run VMK and the people who run the theme parks.

I totally agree i'm waiting for then to be released also. vmk is not that on the ball when it comes to the in park stuff

And don't even get me started on the beautiful full-color VMK pin that was available at the parks last year between Christmas and New Year's for people who tried to redeem a tour card, but only if they knew to ask for the pin... I was THERE that week with a tour card that I tried to redeem, but they told me the tours were gone for good and they never told me about the pin they were giving out!

That makes 2 of us, Lime, and it totally sucked. I had to resort to Ebay to get my pin.

Honestly? I think it's part of their marketing ploy. The later it is, the less time SoCal passholders (for Disneyland) have to get the quest items before they go on black-out. When it does go to blackout, if they want to get the quest items they'll have to pay $30 to get in. Last year they did the same thing, having the quest later into the month. My family and I were there the last day before we went to black-out. Since I didn't know about the quest before, I didn't know to print anything out and the CM didn't print anything for me (which people say they'll do that, but you could have fooled me). So, we could have gone back that next week to get it, but it would have cost quite a bit for 5 people. By the time our passes would be off of black-out days, it was right after the quest was to end. They totally know what they're doing.

*Sigh* Im going to disneyland tomorrow as well.. and i was hoping the holiday quest would be out by now as well.. as i know i wont be back until the summer. It stinks, Im going to have a great time, but It would have been nice to get the holiday quest as well.

Same thing happened to us last year. :(

We are going down to Orlando for a one day trip to WDW, I've got tickets and money, I'm just waiting on the release of the Holiday quest.

OK guys I just got back from Disneyland tonight and the vmk people still do not have a date for the holiday quest, they told me it should be the first week in December though. Also the VMK boxed pin sets will be in Dec 22. and guess who will be the first in line to get them :rotfl2:

Last year I went to Disneyland on Dec 2-4 and the quest started after I returned home. I missed all of it. I expect it to come out next week if its like last year. (Also remember the Halloween quest was only a few weeks long too)

By the way - I'm here at WDW and ready to pick up the Holiday Quest cards as soon as they appear; if there's somebody at Disneyland who would like to send me the Disneyland-only cards in return for me sending you the WDW-only cards, let me know. :)

My parents are at Disney World this week and asked the staff at VMK when the holiday stuff would be out. They said they should be out this weekend.

I was at VMK Central last night and the several CM's there had NO idea when it would be released. Some of them are long term VMK area CMs. From what I've seen of Disney & VMK & the quests, don't count on anything until we've got links to the print outs or quest cards in the parks. We can speculate until the cows come home, but there is NOTHING predictable about what Disney does and when they do it.

Do I think they'll be out this weekend? Nope. But it'd be nice.

If I remember correctly, the Holiday Quest came out last year on Dec 11 or 12. (can't remember whether it was a Sun or Mon). Mountains of stuff came out that day. It was a mad house between trying to do the Holiday Quest and play on VMK to try out all the new "toys".

So I'm not expecting anything for at least another week.
