So when Orlando weather shows "30% chance of rain" would that be mostly the 'passing afternoon rain' type thing??

In the summer if you see 30%-40% that is the usual summer day,where you'll see clouds and possible thunderstorms.Obviously there's also days in the summer that will have higher chances and very few days with 10%-20%.In the cooler months you'll get a lot of days at 0%-20%.

When I was there last week, it said "Scattered Showers 30%" for Saturday through Tuesday. I didn't see it rain at all, the whole time. On Monday night while I was in Magic Kingdom, I heard people say that there was a 5 minute rainstorm in EPCOT. So even if it does rain in Disney, it doesn't mean it will rain where you are.

We were there Aug 31 - Sept 5 and most days it called for 40% or more for rain. The only day it rained was the 5th. However, I did talk to others who said it poured where they were even though we didn't get rain at the parks. Of course the day it did rain we didn't have our ponchos because they were packed to go home.
