Got my annual passes in the mail this week and so now the planning can start. Curious if there is a general consensus as to which time(s) of the year are the best to go?

For me it's the fall during HHN...that's a great time to go. But if you're not into scary stuff, early December and January-March are good times...low crowds, no humidity, no hurricane risk and great weather! Stay away from a holiday period though...the crowds are out in force.

Hey Metro West
How are the crowds during Presidents Week?
Another thing, we just got back from USO last week. When we down there, I saw a real estate billboard that said Metro West and I thought about you. Hope this doesn't seem to creepy.

The crowds during that week can get a little heavy especially around the weekend but overall...not too bad.

Ah...the old neighborhood...how I remember it well. I don't miss living in MetroWest except I don't have a pool now.

We went in January this year and loved the low crowds. We're going again next January, and then in October '09 for HHN. We really like the weather and short lines at those times of year. Of course, after Mississippi humidity, Florida is less hot and humid ANY time of year. We live in a freaking sauna!

anytime i can get to orlando is the best time for me to hit universal.

i usually do the parks October.
also have gone may, june, sept for favorite times.

i think january, november and december are the only months i have not been at universal.

too difficult to schedule air and get out of chgo during winter weather ..

We like early May, Sept, and early Oct. (kids are too young for HHN)
We've gone in 1st week of Nov a few times due to kid's school schedule but it's too chilly for dh's fav-Bluto's Bilge Barge ride. We went this past Jan too and was way to cool to get wet at all. :(
I'd have to say Sept is my personal fav. We'll be back 9/26 but only 1 nt at RPR (staying in our TS)

any time is the right time;) if ur onsite w/FOTL

thought early Feb followed by early Dec. especially appealing:goodvibes

We always go in May. The crowd levels are not too bad because most schools are still in session. The weather is warm enough to enjoy the resort pools and the water rides but it's not miserably hot yet.

We usually go at the begining of June but this year due to DW's work we have to wait for July but atleast we are staying onsite for 3 days for the first time and will have fotl :woohoo: :woohoo:

You must have been there as little later in January than we were. We were surprised at how HOT it was the second week of January. My DH avoided the water rides because he didn't want to walk around hot, wet, and sticky. The one slightly chilly day on our trip was our pool day. Go figure. Another year we went in early December and spent half the time freezing our tails off in spite of heavy clothing, and the rest feeling ever so comfortable in shorts and summer shirts. Just goes to show you never know what the winter weather is going to be like in FL, so I never feel bad about overpacking the clothes. :laundy:

Yes, we were there Jan 30-Feb 2. Didn't need a jacket but also didn't want to get wet. Ds pleaded with us relentlessly to go on Rip Saw Falls. We finally gave in but regretted it after. Oh well. The things I do to see his cute little smile...:3dglasses

We usually always go in the fall
But this year are going in July, my hubby is treating us all
as a gift for me graduating school :)
I've been going to school to be a Cardiovascular Tech and will be done
July 8th and we are leaving the very net day on the 9th- what a present!
I love him:love:

I cannot wait! I keep telling our kids how lucky they are because
we were just there in Nov and are going again.
But Ripsaw Falls was closed the last time and we were all so bummed
Not this time!!! :woohoo:

Have an awesome time!!

For me, I prefer either October or February. I'd also imagine late January or early November would also fit into this too. Low crowds, generally good weather, and your at Universal.

Thanks everyone for your input. I did read thru the responses. It looks like the only general consensus is that the best time to be at Universal is when you're at Universal :)

We are a family of 5 with 3 little ones (7,5,2). We were thinking the 1st week in December, but I only saw one person mention that??

We're from upstate NY so would like to avoid the HOT weather, but would like it warm enough for the kids to enjoy the different kid play areas that have water (I think I saw those mentioned in other posts). I guess "warm enough" is relative... my 7yo was swimming in an outdoor pool in Maine in May... so personally I'm thinking daytime highs in the high-70s/low-80s range.

Also, we'd most likely stay off-site so no FOTL.

Thanks all!!

My favorite time was in April, before the Easter crowds get there. The year I went I think it was the 2nd week of April. It was warm enough for the water rides/areas but not too humid. Beautiful!!!
