So when do you start packing

I usually start packing about a month out. There's 6 of us so it makes it easier just to pack a little at a time. And about a week from our vacation, I go through everything that I have packed already and compare it to my packing list.

After reading some of the responses I dont feel so odd now. I started last week. I pulled out all the suitcases and put them inside each other to make sure we had them all. I've been going thru each room deciding on what we will be getting rid of b4 we move, so I have also been setting aside things for Disney. Things that we wont be using anymore this year (like swimsuits) have gone in. Then in Feb we bought the boys Disney World hoodies...those are already in along w/ my Disney world jacket. Things like our Decorations for the windows are already in. I think that is it so far.

Once I make the shirts they will be packed. Then I will probably pack the shorts once the weather cools down here or a week b4 we leave which ever is first. Pants will be the week of.

I start setting things aside about a week before the trip. Random things I am likely to forget -- DS's water bubble, tylenol for the kids, purell etc. The day before I pack -- everything set up on the bed and stacked and divided up between 2 bags. And then do the carry on. I do shop the weekend before for airplane toys for the kiddos!

I have already started in my mind and we aren't leaving until the 30th. We will pack the Monday before because I'm off and we will leave Wed after work.

I've been working on a packing list for about a week now. I am basically taking everything that I took on my previous trip in March, minus the sweatshirt (which was 2 days shorter). I will pack the bags 2 nights before we get to WDW, as we are staying at a hotel by the airport the night before we fly into MCO. It's sort of like the last bit of excitement at home before we actually get to go. :wizard:

I have a permenant "Disney" basket in the corner of my bedroom :) This basket is used to put things we use for not only Disney trips but other trips too. We are flying out Nov 26th and I had my sons to get their outfits together and even made a worksheet so we know what to pack when the time comes :) Also this let us know what we need to pick up for them too.

We leave in two weeks & one day. I started a packing list 2 weeks ago & putting the finishing touches on it. I have the item with a box in front of it so I can check it off when I pack it. Also I make a note as to whether it;'s in the checked bag or the carry on.

I have a lot of DDs stuff packed already. Her carryon/plane activity suitcase is completely packed and ready to go. In a couple of weeks it will be cool enough here that I can pack our summer clothes. I have about 6 trillion packing lists started and pulled the old diaper bag out of the attic so I could practice pack it for the parks. My mom is going to be throwing a wrench into my plans though because I know she has tons of stuff, clothes included, stashed away for DD. What's the baggage allowance again?!?!?!

We are, too! My ticker is a day off because we were going to add the 25th, but we ended up adding two days at the end instead.

Well, we leave on the 26th, but our bags leave with my grandparents on the 22nd, so I will probably start packing this weekend (shorts, swimsuits, customs that the kids won't wear at home, etc.). Next weekend, I'll add in everything else that can't go in our carryons or that we've used up until then.

I've already divided up the Disney box into park bag, carry on, suitcase. I'm so ready to go!

LOL I wish I was that organized. I usually start packing the night before we leave..all the way thru...and finish in a panic right as we leave for the airport in the morning. LOL

Each trip I say it's not going to be that way this time...we'll see. We leave in a little over 2 weeks. :)

Our flight leaves at 1:45 next Saturday. I will probably start packing about 7:00 Saturday morning. :rotfl: This is a suprise trip, so I can't be too obvious by packing ahead of time (we'll suprise the kids with the news next Friday night). I had thought about packing a few things this weekend after the kids are in bed, but I think we're going to go to the beach for a couple of days instead (got to get a head start on unwinding for our vacation:yay:). To be quite honest, I always end up waiting until the last minute anyway. Procrastination is my middle name:dance3:

I will start packing saturday night, but about 1 week before I start writing a list with everything I keep thinking of that I need. Then i go down the list when I start packing

I have a master packing list in excel that I just update and resave for each trip (depending on who's going and where to) it is divided into separate "kits" - first aid kit, laundry kit, electronics, picnik kit, toiletries, and clothes (for each family member). Most of the kits I pack up the week before, clothes always seems to be last, mostly the day before our flight. But I also keep a running list with me of things I think of or know that we are out of, that way if I'm out at the store and come across an item I can just get it then. It keeps me from spending the day before we go shopping for a whole bunch of stuff. :thumbsup2

We leave in 9 days, and we are having our wedding at Sea Breeze Point. We will be there for 2 weeks with a 6 yr old and a 21 month old. I started pulling everything together today. I will have the suitcases out tomorrow..I really hope that I dont forget anything...:yay::banana::bride:

We aren't leave until the end of November and I already have a tub of stuff that I am filling as I think of it or come across something. Since we are coming into colder weather, I am leaving short sleeve things out and putting in that tub rather then the attic with the other summer things. We can't wait!

Started collecting stuff months ago. Only 13 days to go, and still feel like I have a long way to go. Spent the better half of the night at Walmart collecting mister fans, tshirts and misc stuff for our trip! Having a horrible time finding a costume for my oldest, for MNSSHP.

I start packing about a month out and I pack my box to be shipped about 2 and a half weeks out we just mailed it yesterday. I have already started with my daughters tee shirts and stuff like that. The weather has turned really cold here really fast so summer clothes are easy to pack. I am having a hard time finding a Halloween costume for my daughter. And its hard this time to pack without my kids knowing that we are going.

I begin "hoarding" all the small travel stuff in plastic bin...but I dont officially pack until the day before... Its easier to get the kids to help me if the departure is eminent
