So what's your favorite resort?

I appreciate all of your feedback everyone! We are thinking either Art of Animation or Pop Centurt since this will be our first trip with our little one. Any insight into these 2 resorts? I appreciate all of you!

Interesting responses. Beach club is popular! My question is ..... Which resort is the most impressive for non-resort days, hanging at the pools etc? Pre-school view on this .....

When our kids were pre-school age, we liked the BC the best because of the sandy-bottom shallow pool section. They used to play in that for hours and hours! DH and I used to sit in the mounds of sand with them, play, have drinks....it was so relaxing and fun! The tricky part comes into play if you have other older kids that might want to go in other sections of the pool (deeper parts/no sand) and then it would be difficult to watch all your kids. We have twins who always stuck together, so the spread-out pool was never an issue for us.

Besides the pool there, the boardwalk has fun entertainment at various times of the day/night....there is carnival-type games along the boardwalk too. You can walk to mini golf course. Beaches & Cream right at BC is fun for all kinds of ice cream treats. We love renting surrey bikes and riding around the boardwalk. There are movies on the beach at night and you can see the Illuminations fireworks too.

We've never actually stayed at either of those resorts, but we used to visit them all the time when the arcades had prizes. We think Pop is very cute and I always thought that would be my first choice if ever staying at a value. AoA is of course newer, so everything just looks newer if that's the right way to phrase. It might get the edge as far as the "wow" factor because of how animated it is. We like both arcades and both food courts! I think it's just a matter of theming.

Yeah I like AoA too. We are looking at both right now.

Beach Club. First of all because that is where we stayed when we got engaged and secondly we often go for F&W festival so it's convenient for that too.

Pop Century, love the feel of all the decades especially that walking trail they have. Also, love the retro style.

I've stayed at POFQ, POR, AKL, SS, CSR and POP. My fave is CSR, I have stayed there 2 times, and have trip 3 coming up in July. Granted AKL was wonderful, we only stayed there compliments of DD cast member discount. We'd never be able to afford it on a normal basis.

We really like VGF, bwv and akl for resort days. VGF and all win on pools because of the kids water area, but the clown slide at Luna park is great too. The dining at all three is also great :)

We bought BLT because the CR is by far our favorite resort. I just can't get enough of that place...it is truly home.

Second favorite is AKL Jambo.

Good Morning DISers,
So let's hear it. What is your all time favorite resort to stay in st Disney? Don't forget to tell us why! Have a great day!
Have stayed at POR, CBR, YC, BCV, and Poly over several years. They were all great, though I have my favorites.

Overall, I loved POR best. We stayed in a river view royal room near a quiet pool. Fantastic location, fantastic room decor (LOVED the fireworks), fantastic grounds, fantastic CMs, fantastic food offerings, fantastic bus service, fantastic boat to DS...just everything was great.

Poly, I think, is a very close second because I love the location (close to MK and a short walk to the Epcot monorail), and I love the huge rooms and incredible theme/detail throughout the resort. Plus good food offerings onsite. During my stays there, CMs have been great or merely 'meh'...and with the overall price, it takes it to second on my list.

Third (and this is a close vote too) is YC. I loved my room, I loved the CMs, I loved the pool (and my kids ADORED it!), I loved the attention to details, I loved the short walk to Epcot and boat ride to the studios, I loved the gift shop, and I loved loved loved the quiet lobby and huge gift shop (especially in comparison to the BC lobby, which is more crowed and loud, and the BC's smaller gift shop).

Honestly, before I went to POR, I'd have insisted that Poly and YC were a close 1 and 2. The main reason Poly and YC are even close to POR on my personal list is their proximity to parks.

I'm currently planning a trip late this year and am considering a regular room at BC vs a 1 BR villa at BWI. Despite how much I've enjoyed my stays elsewhere, and despite my favorites, I'm always open to going to a new resort...because I really haven't ever been disappointed at WDW.

AKL followed closely by Poly and Beach Club. However, for my moderate choice it's Coronado hands down. Going to be there in 8 days!! Can't wait.
