What is for dinner at your house tonight?

I'm preparing a bit pot of chicken and vegetable soup using left over roast chicken. I added some pearl barley to it and before serving I'll add some little angel hair pasta, then grate over some parmesan cheese. DD has a cold so this is for her :goodvibes

We are having a family favourite 'spaghetti bolognaise'

I have been quite creative this week making

Meatloaf was a big :rolleyes2:crazy2::sad:
Pulled pork tortillas with salad was a big :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

so tonight I will play it safe, I'm exhausted from thinking up new meals

:flower3:

Dinner's at a school function. Kids at mum's so no cooking! Yay!

We (read I) tend to stick to the tried and true stuff too. Except on school holidays when I tend to get more creative.

Haven't thought that far ahead... for some reason it seemed more important to make red velvet cheesecake after work today ... though I do feel like spag bol now

last night was vegetarian nachos. my dh is a pesky vegetarian (mostly vegetarian, but will eat fish if necessary) and we have recently discovered the Quorn range of products. so easy and such a great meat substitute. i love their frozen mince -- 3 mins in a frypan, and i have a perfect mince substitute so over the last week or so i have done:

- vegetarian chilli
- vegetarian tacos
- vegetarian nachos
- vegetarian quesadillas

(yes, i love the whole tex-mex style of food)

we also have some of the Quorn stir fry pieces, so i have also made:

- vegetarian stirfry with rice
- vegetarian thai green curry with jasmine rice
- vegetarian mushroom gnocchi mix
- mushroom and 'chicken' rissotto

tonight: flatbread home-made pizzas
tomorrow night: chilli con carne

Cheesecake is always more important :)

I'm making something called American chicken from the cwa classics cookbook - chicken drumsticks baked in a sauce of orange juice, tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce. I'll serve it with mashed potato and beans or a salad. I've also make up a kilo of mince into veggie and mince rissoles for future dinners

Lasagne here tonight - I had two extra teenage boys tonight - all plates were clean, so must have been good!!

We had breakfast for dinner. It was a simple scrambled eggs with home made hash browns.

We had a bunch of friends over for a 70's-style lunch so I made little things on toothpicks (think cheese and pineapple, cheese, cabana and coloured cocktail onions etc) and prawn cocktails, others brought apricot chicken, rice salad, coleslaw and quiche, for desert I had made melon balls served in a watermelon basket and "special" brownies (used diced mint leaves to add some fake authenticity-the men got quite excited at first!!) and others brought a gingernut log (new to me but everyone else remembered it) and baked cheesecake. We also had Jaffas and Chubba Chubs and lots of corny 70's music-great fun!

BBQ for dinner tonight with friends coming over, so that means sausages, steak, pork chops, lamb chops, chicken drumsticks, salad, bread rolls. Then banana cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
