Ok maybe I missed it in the many threads going on, but seems all talk stopped about Tiggergate. Hopefully the CM got his job back and the wuss family calmed down.
Anyone know the outcome or is it still ongoing?
Thanks in advance!

Poor Tigger:tigger:
I hope that he got back to work already. I am so sick of people trying to sue for things that are their own fault. It was so evident that the kid did something to Tigger and then Tigger gets the blame. Hopefully he is back on the job

If you do not know the story, go to any major news site and search the site for Tigger -- that will update you.

I just did that for an update and nothing came up since the original incident.

It was in another post here that he is back working and never lost any pay. And yes WDW is NOT going to settle with the family.

He's teaching martial arts to other Disney characters.

Tigger: "What do we study here?!"

Fab 5: "THE WAY OF THE FIST SIR!"

Tigger: "And what is that way?!"

Fab 5: "STRIKE FIRST, STRIKE HARD, NO MERCY SIR!"

Tigger: "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

Fab 5: "STRIKE FIRST, STRIKE HARD, NO MERCY SIR!!!"

If do right, no can defense.

One of the things I've been wondering is: aren't there usually CMs nearby that accompany the costumed CMs? I don't remember ever hearing anything about that in this case.

the cm has been allowed to return to work, that is what my boyfriend who is a character attendent there told me.

Tigger, the Walt Disney World character, is no longer in the cross-hairs of the State Attorney's Office.

No charges will be filed against 31-year-old Michael J. Fedelem, the employee playing Winnie the Pooh's bouncy friend, the State Attorney's Office announced today.

Prosecutors reviewed the complaint that Tigger punched a 14-year-old during a home-video session at Disney-MGM Studios last month.

No Charges To Be Filed Against 'Tigger' In Videotaped Incident

POSTED: 3:39 pm EST February 15, 2007
UPDATED: 4:30 pm EST February 15, 2007

ORLANDO, Fla. -- No charges will be filed against the man accused of punching a boy at a Disney theme park while dressed as Tigger, Local 6 News reported.

Michael J. Fedelem, 31, won't face any charges after the state attorney's office reviewed a video of the alleged incident, which was taped last month by the father of the 14-year-old boy.

The video showed Tigger apparently punching Jerry Monaco Jr. in the face and knocking him back, and prompted an Orange County sheriff's investigation into the incident.

"You don't come here for this," father Jerry Monaco said. "Disney is supposed to be a safe place. It is supposed to be a place where you come and spend time with your family. How hard did he hit you, (son)?"

"Pretty hard," Jerry Monaco Jr. replied. "I could still feel it even though he was wearing the padded gloves."

Monaco Sr. said he noticed the alleged attack was unprovoked after looking at the video.

"At first I was upset at my son," Monaco Sr. said. "I thought he did something to Tigger. But then I review it, and it is pretty clear. For no reason, he just clocked him in the face."

Monaco Jr. said he did not provoke the attack and just had his arm around the costumed character when the incident happened.

"No provoking at all," Monaco said. "It was just out of the blue."

Disney officials called the family, Local 6 reported last month.

"I just wanted to follow up with you and let you know that we have spoken to the cast member in question and have reacted very strongly toward him," a man who identified himself as Jean Erik Redrupp, general manager of Park Operations at Disney-MGM Studios, said in a phone recording.

"The general manager apologized to me," Monaco Sr. said. "Everybody will come up and apologize to me but Tigger. He won't be a man about it and get out of the costume and come out and apologize to my son. I didn't want VIP treatment. I didn't want an extra day at Disney. I didn't want any of that. I wanted him to apologize and that is the one thing that they won't do."

Fedelem was suspended by Disney pending the investigation, according to an AP report.

Pretty interesting stuff.

It is EXTREMELY difficult to sue Disney and win. Read David Koenig's book (sorry cannot remember the title right now) about Disneyland and the section titled "Lawsuit Land" Disneyland has only 1 attorney representing the entire park. They never settle when they know they are in the right.

Its not anymore difficult than going up against any other deep pocket company. The thing is Disney gets hit with a lot of frivilous stuff, like this would potentially be.

They did settle with the family of the boy who died on M:S.

Yes but for what. . . . . and was it worth it to the family. Of course we will never know

Given that the boy died, I'd think that it couldn't possibly have been "worth" it. The fact that they paid at all is an indication that Disney didn't think they could win.
