So, What is it Like With NO MK Night Time Parade? :((

I'll get an extra hour to enjoy a nighttime Main St. without a crush of guests.

And, really, there have often been many evenings over the years when they didn't run a nighttime parade at MK, so it's not too foreign to see MK without one.

I will say that the recent version of MSEP was the poorest version of any in the history of Disney parks.

Actually, I DO hope they bring another parade to MK before too long.

I thought it was supposed to end on the 8th? They were still running it last night.

I'd like to see them bring in another parade with better floats and characters. Maybe a little futuristic as msep felt so dated.

I won't miss the crowds making it tough to navigate around Main Street or how annoying the music was after 5 minutes. However I will miss how it got a bunch of people to Main Street and not on rides

I don't believe it will stay dark for long.

Any particular reason why you think that, or more just wishful thinking?
My wishful thinking is it'd be nice if something would show up for the holidays, starting by Nov 12th, lol!

Every Party night has a night time parade weather permitting so I don't think I would say MK doesn't have one yet..

There have been nights where MSEP or Celebrate the magic wasn't run starting about the end of summer (and some earlier close times that one would expect for this time of year on some days) so it's not like it went from 2 parades a night to none suddenly. I have to be honest, I've enjoyed MK without it (and without celebrate the magic being nightly). Crowds have been more spread out, there isn't hours of avoid the hub to get between places, people have been less rude and more pleasant when leaving instead of zombies pissed off at everyone in part because they stayed in huge crowds for hours to see all these things long after they were tired enough to leave. I lost track of how much time that parade got in the way of getting around or bunching up a lot of people heading the same nearby rides after it.

I also think wishes and celebrate is a little better. your not focused on where you need to be to see them and the mass crowd to get in and out of to do all of them and you just relax and take it all in better. or at least I do.

I understand that but different people have different priorities. People who make an occasional trip and can't come back whenever the Magic Kingdom decides to roll out a new parade are very disappointed not to be able to have one on this trip. My friend hasn't been in 3 years and will be there in three weeks. The parade is one of her favorite things in the Magic Kingdom. She has no idea when she will get back again so telling her a new parade might show up next year is absolutely no consolation to her.

The festival of fantasy parade is still there
True, and we do love that parade - I was referring to a night time parade. MNSSHP will be on while we are there but we have AP's and I don't think we will go to that. We have been to MNSSHP a few times in the past years though and love that parade.

It wasn't until maybe our sixth or seventh trip (spanning about 12 years) that we watched MSEP. I was really stunned at how hokie and old-fashioned it seemed. I suppose if I'd been watching since childhood and had nostalgia reasons for liking it, I would miss it. But (as long as they do eventually replace it) it seems like pretty much anything will be an improvement. At least, anything with some creativity applied to it and not just princesses waving from floats.

.

I'm just curious to hear your thoughts on that - why do you say that? I don't agree or disagree, would just love to hear more.

I am completely disappointed that MSEP has been cancelled AND there is no replacement. The parades are one of the things that sets Disney apart from "other" theme parks and makes the experience unique. Now it is reduced to 1 daytime parade. We are going for 10 days and we used to be able to see a different parade every few days, but no more. It will just seems very non magical to no longer have night time parades.

I bet they will bring Paint the Night or something quite similar. It might be a little different as I don't think DL wants to give up their Paint the Night, but I still bet on MK getting either a clone of it or something very similar.

I completely agree. We have loved all the parades in Disney. I still miss the Tapestry of Nations in Epcot and the Jammin' Jungle Parade in AK and the Stars and Motor Cars Parade in MGM or DHS or whatever they are calling it now.

Disney really needs to add more parades.

Parade cutting saves them a ton of money and now people will be eating and shopping (along with riding) rather then waiting and watching.

It's disappointing though that they either have no plan yet or don't care to announce what it is.
