So what do you think they'll do with Cinderellas Castle Suite after YOAMD?

Do you think it will be available to stay in? I would just assume it would be super expensive and that only celebrities would be able to stay there.

I'd rather not have it turned into a glorified rich-mans suite, but would love to see it be a special upgrade to someones trip. Could you imagine booking at Pop Century and getting there and being told you were upgraded to Cinderellas Castle? Then again, this might also not work for the fact that Disney isn't going to want some random family waving down to guests from the suite.

So what do you think will happen with it?

I think it will continue to be a big ticket item used as a giveaway for all of the promotions going forward. This way, they will still get some use out of the work for years to come, with little additional expense...

Disney called me and asked if I wanted to move into it after YOAMD is over. Ofcourse I took them up on it!

They should have called to tell you that it is no longer available.. it is now my new vacation home starting next year :woohoo:

but really I'm sure it will turn into a VIP suite for dignitaries and people far more important than I am

Actually...I'm a little dissappointed that they have degraded the myth to use it at all. :sad2:

It has, for 34 yrs., been the mystery apt. and radio station that "Walt" built, and , yes, never had the opportunity to use.

AH... if only I were a "Disney family member" ... think they would want to use it...boy would I be pretty mad making it available to the public.. :furious:

I have a feeling it will remain part of the giveaways, however I could see them making it the new Presidential suite and charging $5,000/night. Time to buy those lottery tickets.

Was the mystery apartment ever really there?

I thought they had been plans for it, but they never actually did anything with them. I was under the impression and I could be wrong, that until now there wasn't any apartment that anyone, Disney family or not, could stay in at the Castle? :confused3

That being said, I was wondering the same thing...
What will they do with it after the promotion? I can see it being used for Disney big wigs and celebrities.

are there any photos of the suite? i would love to see what it looks like.

im sure disney will continue to use it for promotions or as a presidential/vip room.

I went on the 7 hour backstage tour and asked our tour guide (who was a 25+ year employee of the company) what the plans were for the suite after YOMD. (Nothing like a loaded question, eh?) Our guide looked at me sideways and thought about it for a few minutes, then said that at this point no one really knows, but that internally it's a can of worms and the debate was still raging because of all the behind-the-scenes work that it will take to make that a reality just for the YOMD. I told our guide that was a good enough answer for me, because obviously they couldn't say anymore about it than that without probably getting into politics and other issues that are best discussed offstage and not on the clock.

Personally, learning about all the backstage stuff makes the magic even more real to me, so I sincerely hope they'll open it up to the public. Per the retail value listed in the official YOMD rules, one night in the suite is worth $500, and I think I could splurge that much for one night, given the opportunity!
