So what did you eat, and how much?

I ate a lot yesterday, and I was not true to keeping carbs down since I am diabetic. But I do this every Thanksgiving...

I ate: 2 helpings of prime rib ( like 1 restaurant sized portion, really ).... 1 helping of potatoes, 1 helping of stuffing, and a really large portion of green bean casserole.

Then for dessert I had a piece of pecan pie.

No turkey for me....

two helpings of turkey with stuffing and gravy, one of mashed potatoes with gravy, chicken caserole, a salad,a few pieces of corn bread, a couple slices of pumpkin pie, a scoop of chocolate ice cream with whipped cream.

I was bad today.....way too many carbs
We went to a movie and had popcorn.
Came home to chips and dip.
Dinner.....salad, turkey, gravy, stuffing, snap peas .....I did skip the potatoes.
Pumpkin Custard and chocolate cheesecake....small bit of each.

I had ham, turkey, cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole with pecan topping, cheesy corn casserole, festive salad, and chocolate pie.

I ate WAAAAAAY too much fat today!

Turkey, garlic mashed potatoes made with loads of cream and butter, gravy made with butter roux, a scalloped sweet potato dish made with - you guessed it - heavy cream, a cucumber and avocado salad, homemade cranberry sauce, and green beans with carmelized onions and a bacon balsamic vinaigrette. For dessert, sweet potato pie with REAL whipped cream.

Didn't have time to make stuffing, but we were too full to eat it anyway.

Are you crazy??!?!?!? I'm not telling what I ate, it's bad enough that I actually ate it. Reliving it is out of the question. Moving on. lol!

We made some serious damage.

Deep Fried Turkey
Green Bean Casserole (with cream of mushrooms and fried onion things)
Mashed Potatoes (with packages of bacon and cheese)
Gravy
Cranberry Jelly
Stuffing
Seasoned Brocoli with cheese

Pumpkin Pie
Some dessert with apples, cool whip and snicker (we used it on top of the pumpkin pie)

Wine

After the dust settled, we all sat on the couch and didn't move for 5 hours.

Put it this way, we ate at 3 and I was still full when I went to bed last night :lmao:. I ate a bit of everything-turkey, mashed potatoes, salad, veges, all the appetizers they had before hand, etc.

Me too... in fact, I am just NOW eating breakfast, and I woke up 2 hours ago.

I actually ate pretty light - one slice of turkey, one helping each of stuffing and mashed potatoes, and a small slice of pumpkin pie. I did have 3 glasses of wine, though - generous pours.

I'm another that hasn't had anything since dinner at 3 yesterday! Too much food! But so yummy. I had, turkey with gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, stuffing, roasted onions, pigs in blankets, antipasto and pumpkin soup! Come dessert I was only able to taste the apple pie.

I am hoping I will be hungry at some point to try everything else that I couldnt eat yesterday!

Prime Rib instead of Turkey, my husband would have loved that idea!:thumbsup2

we are so used to REALLY over eating at thanksgiving!!
i remember many years ago a boyfriend (who was not american) had thanksgiving dinner with my family. he told me some time later that he was just shocked at how much we ate. he said he never saw ANYONE eat that much food before!!!!! :confused3
i reminded my sister of that yesterday when she filled up her plate for the 2nd time!!! :lmao:

I was the one who made the Prime Rib... and I must say it was AWESOME... I cooked it to 125 degrees, and carryover cooking took it to just on the rare side of medium... It was SO MOIST, and I had inserted garlic into slits I made, so it had a nice garlicy flavor... with a nice au jus.
