That pretty much sums it up. I understand you can log onto the webkinz world and such but would it be something my DS4 could do by himself. He's pretty good on the computer it's just reading that he's not mastered yet. So tell me folks, should I look into this for Christmas for him or not? :thumbsup2

My DD got a Webkinz last Christmas, right before her 5th birthday. She needed a lot of help in the beginning because she couldn't read. She loves it, and now she can easily find the things she knows how to do without help. There are lots of games she can play that don't require reading once you find them. And my DD loves buying accessories (with the "kinzcash" you win by playing games... you don't need real money) and dressing her dog or redecorating her rooms. Every once in a while, she'll still call me in to read something to her.

I'm sure your child will love one, just be sure you're nearby to offer reading help, especially in the beginning.

My daughter got her first when she was 4. (She is 5 now) She loves it. She did have older sisters to help in the beginning. She also learned from watching. She can do it by herself no problem. She does however spend most of her money just to spend it though. Im always getting her more money. It's a tough job but someone has to do it :rolleyes1 . The games are really fun even for adults. I recommend it. :thumbsup2 Even if they don't like it you still have a cute stuffed animal. Just my opionion though.

My daughter got her first one back for easter and she loved it. She is 4, and still needs lots of help with it. She has become more familiar with certain things that are easy enough for her to do on her own, but it's also fun for me to sit there with her and play too.

Your child will LOVE webkinz - heck I LOVE webkinz! It is a stuffed animal that y ou can log online & play games! My dd was 33 when she started - it does not require reading which is great.

My ds5 got one when he was 4 and loves it too. He even just likes the actual stuffed animal on its own.

Both of my children love their Webkinz. I have to say they even bought me one for Mother's Day so I wouldn't play with theirs anymore! :rotfl:

DS needed some help in the beginning but he is very computer literate and can now easily maneuver around. Once in awhile if it gets "stuck" he gets upset or if he doesn't understand how a game works. We started by picking out one or two games from the arcade for him to play and showed him how to do that. He was pretty independent after a few times in.

They are cute, non-violent and not overly expensive. :)

my kids 5 &6 both got their first last year and can navigate through the site pretty easily on their own but there are harder games they cannot play & quizes that they cannot read on their own. they do sell shining stars--same company but designed for younger kids. i would suggest them.

We have more than I care to admit. DD can mostly manuever around the site without help, although she sometimes asks for help. Walgreens are supposed to have Lil' Kinz half off on Black Friday, so under $4. You get all the features of a regular size Kinz, but they generally run $10+. We both enjoy them, it's a cute non-violent way for them to be on the computer.

I'm glad I'm not the only one - I have my own too!

OP - I would say go ahead and get it. As others have said, he will need help reading at the beginning, but will soon find things he can do himself.
