Well, my girlfriend and I are going to WDW, just us two, in November. We've both been divorced for a while and I was already planning on proposing the night we get there in front of the castle...

We started dating in college but ended up going our separate ways. We both got divorced and I found her on Facebook a few months ago. I'm done. I've got her now and I'm not turning loose...

So is there a place we can go to get married near WDW? I checked the state of Florida website and we can get a license without a waiting period. Which county court house is closest to the world? I can rent a car and we can go to a courthouse, but I have no idea where we should go...

Any help from you Orlando area experts would be GREATLY appreciated... I can call and get more info from the local court clerk's office if I just knew the right way to go...

Thanks!

-Eric

So you're proposing during the trip and then expect an instant wedding? You might want to consult with the bride after she accepts.

Congratulations!! Very sweet and romantic story and I wish you both many years of happiness.

Hopefully someone local can direct you to the County Clerk office but I believe it is going to be Osceola County and normally they can marry you in the Clerk's office. In FL if you haven't taken the "state sanctioned marriage preparation course within the last 12 months" there is a three day waiting period. Since you both have been married before documentation of the divorces along with picture ids will have to be provided. And I believe that the cost is right around $100 for the license.

Good luck!!!

We got married at Cypress Grove in 2008, was incredible.
We were helped by the weather (not a cloud in the sky but temps in the mid 60s) but out lakeside setting was just amazing.

Flying from the UK we only had close friends and family, so had a wedding meal at a semi private area if Shula's at the Dolphin - again amazing and got some great photos by the fountain in the lobby too :)

I really couldn't recommend getting married in Orlando highly enough :)

:goodvibes

Thank you so much. I found their website and that was exactly what I was looking for! I found their website and should be all set. Don't know if that's what she's going to want to do, but at least I'll know somewhere to go if that's what we decide!

Hi Eric!

Our story is much like your :) We dated on and off in HS and many years after. Never a "couple" but lots of fun dates and fun times. When I saw no real progression to the relationship, I moved on, I was ready to settle down. I met a great guy and married pretty quickly and was married 17 years. My Ex and I grew apart and we decided to divorce. My HS love found me on FB and it was nothing short of amazing that I excepted the friend request. I had never talked to people from those years since I got married. Well... now we are a "couple" I found out I broke his heart when I moved on. I NEVER KNEW HE CARED!!!! But he didn't know he had broken mine too!!!! We were always "that person" to each other, but neither of us knew it. He never married, but was with the same girl for 17 years, no kids. Now we are soooo happy and will for sure be married too! He says the same to me "I aint ever letting you go again!"

Here is to second chances!!!! :cool1: :yay: :woohoo:

I am so happy for you! :grouphug: Sounds like a fun way to marry!!!
