My husband im'ed me at work today and said "why don't we go to Universal this weekend as a family?" I hadn't really thought about it because until really researched it, I didn't think there was much for kids to do. But I think with doing both parks on one day, we'll have plenty to do.

He booked us a room at a great Florida resident rate at Royal Pacific, mostly for front of the line access. So i'm really excited. Normally we would have made a full weekend of it, but we need to be back Sunday for Ian's birthday party/Fathers Day.

We aren't telling the girls where we are going, will just surprise them when we pull up to the hotel. Unfortunately it won't be until late since DH has to work. But it will be fun for a quickie little birthday trip... for my birthday and for Ian's birthday too!

we'll be there around 8:00 for the AP preview of the Suess Trolley. they'll probably have soft openings throughout the day. have fun...I know we will.

maybe we'll swing by MGM on the way home and catch Fantasmic. :)

Oh..have a wonderful time. Never stayed at RP but I heard it is really AWESOME!!!

We have not been to US/IOA for a few years now and really miss it.

BTW party: :bday: :cake: to you and IAN!!!!

Can I go? ;)

I've been thinking a lot about US. I want to ride The Mummy and walk through the queues at ET and Dueling Dragons. I need my Universal fix I guess.

The one time dh and I went to US was about a year ago. The Mummy was still pretty new. The Mummy movies are my all time favorite movies so this ride kicked TUSHY!!! We may not do alot of adult rides this weekend but I will NOT miss The Mummy.

So the AP preview is only in the morning? And then we might get the chance to ride it in a soft opening later on??? That would be cool. My son is like 33in, I wonder if he'd stand a chance against the 34in requirement for the ride.

7-9 AM for the next three days. stretch him out before you enter the queue.
