So we hit a problem...

Makes me happy to be in New Jersey. 23 bucks a year and your trailer plate is renewed. No inspections or any other hassles. Motor cycles another story. However, my DW and I recently inherited her grandmother's car from PA. Since both title holders were deceased, luckily we found a will from 1960 something for him and a pretty current for her. The PA title store took copies of everything. Had my father in law and his brother sign off on the transfer. Notarized everything and said good luck on the transaction at the NJ MVC. Now the fun part. Her GM kept all here records. Since she drove locally and no more than 5000 miles a year, she had to pay for the exemption for the privilege of being exempt plus another sticker fees on top of it. Every year there was an oil change and "inspection" for $50 bucks. The inspection was 15 bucks for the exemtion and another 6 in stickers. Best part, the brakes in the car failed when I took it on the highway while the vehicle was still in date according to the stickers. I cannot believe she didn't

In NJ, once the car is insured, registered, and on the road. No more inspections since the it's a 1992 model. Anything from 1995 and older, is now exempt from inspection which is a more emissions than safety in NJ these days. My truck narrowly missed being exempt by I think 400 pounds GVW which would have been fine with me. My friend with a 350, no inspection for him. LOL I digress.

Good luck OP in your quest getting your inspection matters in order.

Yes!!! Why am I paying $379 for my truck tag????
WOW. And I thought I had it bad at $164 for my F-250. PLUS inspection (safety AND emission). And as anyone who as owned both smaller and larger vehicles, all the maintenance and operating costs (usually also including insurance) are higher too.

Hmm.... I wonder if I could tow my 37' TT with a Volkswagen Beetle? :lmao:

$450 this year for mine, that's down about $65 from last year, and I live in the county. People living in the city limits of Meridian got it worse.

Yep! We're county, too. Ocean Springs is higher by about $75-100. I'll be your way this weekend!
