In September...I'd love to take my wife out for a night on the town. We have a 2 yr old boy. I know she won't want to leave him but I'd like us to have a night alone....any suggestions? Any worries? Anyone been in this same situation?

Do you have a Grandma who is willing to go with you? I know that Disney has very well trained staff with background checks, but I am uncomfortable with leaving my children with complete strangers. Does your room have a balcony or patio? You could have a candle and a favorite drink, maybe order room service after your ds was sleeping. You could also check the Disney flourist website and have something special delivered. They have some nice things. Good luck! I hope you have a great trip.

I don't think 2 year olds are old enogh for the babysitting clubs down there, are they? Does WDW now offer their own sitters, or am I just not understanding the PP's part about trained Disney staff?

We went last september when DS was 1 and will be going back this september when DS is 2.

Last year we tried out the Babysitting Service recommended by Disney Concierge - Kids Night Out (we also considered the Fairy Godmothers, but choose KNO).

It was GREAT!! We enjoyed a wonderful night out for our anniversary and from what I could tell, my DS had a BLAST! His Babysitter was about 60 - a grandmother - who had been sitting for years. She communicated with him SOOO well that he warmed up to her instantly, which made me comfortable instantly!

It wasnt cheap, although not much more than I pay for a babysitter in MA, but I highly recommend it! We really did enjoy our evening!

The one thing that takes a bit of extra attention is getting the sitter a room key for the night. I didnt want DS stuck in the room for the entire night and knew he would LOVE to go on an evening walk in his stroller. DH and I needed our room keys because it was an Evening EMH night...getting a key from the front desk took a while - they were eventually able to accomodate us once we had all of the sitters info but not prior to that...If you need to do this - budget in some extra time!
