So upsetting...

I am so sorry.

I know it's not quite the same, but check Ebay, check other web sites, call Disney merchandise...

You may be able to get most of it back in time.

I'm glad no one was hurt.

I am so sorry this happened to you...

:(

wow..how depressing....

I hope your insurance covers it and you can find replacements on ebay,,

hmmm think I'll start taking pictures of all my Mickey stuff just to be safe..

Thanks everyone! I knew ya'll would understand!

Hubby got on ebay and couldn't find any of our items. :(

We really don't spend money on such things now that I stay at home and we have kids, but when we were younger we spent alot of money on such things. Many of the items represented trips we had taken in our early 20s, gifts we had given to each other on special occasions, etc. All of the pieces were older, mostly early 80s.

Most heartbreaking is the Disneyland Paris items from our honeymoon. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.

Hubby did go through everything briefly. Only a couple pieces made it and of course they were items that didn't mean much. It is AMAZING how crushed everything got, like a bomb is all I can think of. He didn't pull anything out, just leaning across the bed he got glass all in his arm. I'm dreading cleaning it all up. We will have to pull the bed out as stuff fell behind it, too.

Another thing I have to confront is all the scrapbook albums I had laying out on the bed. Wow...

Thank goodness it never fell on anyone. We have lived here over six years and several guests have stayed in that room.

Interesting that the shelves fell down breaking all my most treasured Disney items while I was at WDW!!! Maybe a sign I'm spending too much money there?!?

I've found that sometimes snowglobes are listed as waterglobes,
water globes,

snowglobes, snow globes...try various spellings and descriptions

I love a challenge, if you want to send me a list with descriptions, I'll help try to locate things for you

I will too. ::yes::

Shan - Was anything salvagable?

It's amazing what some folks can do with all the peices and some invisible glue...

Even if you feel that you can not put them back together your self, you may want to post signs in local craft stores for people who are handy with this sort of thing.

I am soooo sorry. I can only imagine what that would be like.

Bunches and bunches of hugs to you!

As hard as it is to loose things you treasure, keep your perspective. Nobody was hurt or badly injured or worse. Things are things, and you could be dealing with much worse, people you cannot replace. Just a thought I hope helps.

Good point. And besides, think of all the fun you could have rebuilding the collection.

Seriously, I do understand the pain of losing something very special like that, but do as Desperado suggests, keep it in perspective. Health and family are far more important and valuable in the long run.
