So upset about Disney PIN situation.. need advise!

And I've read often about people calling that didn't have a PIN on a previous call and now they do, but never received an e-mail or snail mail notifying them. Since it's possible for anyone have a PIN added anytime, I don't see the harm in calling often and asking. :) In fact CMs will sometimes tell you to keep checking back...

This is exactly correct. I'd keep calling back. I've heard numerous stories of people calling that didn't receive any PINs via email/snail mail and getting the free dining added to their reservation.

It IS possible. I think when you call you need to be FIRM and saying that you would like XYZ code applied to your reservation.

It is worth noting.. that we see this SAME pattern ever year.

International guests get an offer (Latin America, Canada, UK) and eventually the same offer is extended stateside.

Honestly .. I would bet A LOT of Disney Dollars on a general public FREE DINING code no later than April 5th for fall dates.

Having said that.. I will add that the Disney PIN system.. used to be fairly predictable.. lately it just seems like anything goes.

While I will enforce this board's guidelines for non-public PIN code sharing, I won't defend Disney on this PIN stupidity anymore. It's just gotten too ridiculous.

I found out about the Pin Codes here and just called WDW a few times and they said I had one on file so they applied it to my reservation...it did take several phone calls to get the right CM...just keep trying!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Several weeks ago, I called and was told no discount was linked to my name. A week later, I called and told the CM I was interested in staying at the BWV's in a two bedroom villa July 18-24 and could she check to see if any discounts were attached to my name. After a few minutes, the CM said something was attached to my name and she would check. She didn't tell me what the actual discount was just the price for the stay. The price the CM quoted me was $1,438 cheaper than what I was getting online. I figured it was the 30% off deluxe code and needless to say I booked it. This was on February 1st. Today, February 11, I received the Game On postcard offer with my pin code via snail-mail. These codes are put into the system a while before they are mailed out. Good luck to everyone.

Glad you called back. If you'd waited for the snail mail, your room choice might have been sold out. Congratulations!!!

I just don't get the randomness of the PIN marketing system.

That's because they aren't random. They are marketing tools not give away prizes. They are sent out to people who meet the criteria of that marketing promotion. The criteria are set by Disney and only Disney knows the criteria. It may appear random because we don't know the criteria but you can be sure that the pins are sent to meet some marketing goal known only to Disney.

I've never gotten a pin code. I did just get a post card thanking me for my stay! I was hoping it was a pin code! ;)

This sounds like "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!" Perception is everything - and it seems to me that Disney's buying public perceives their discounts to be random.

Disney is still filling hotel rooms with "dynamic pricing"(to what occupancy level we don't usually know beccause the man behind the curtain isn't talking). They're still making more money by raising the prices on everything else so if you're a stockholder you still have something to smile about.

Soooooo, is there anyway to REMOVE someone's name from your info on file? We booked a trip with another family using our DVC points. I planned it all. Of course, they canceled, we never took the trip, and for other reasons, we aren't even friends with them anymore.

But I've been getting PIN codes to MY email address with THEIR name for four years now. It just pushes my blood pressure through the roof every time I get one :-) I've called CRO several times and asked to have them removed from my info, but the PIN codes I can't use just keep coming...
