At least in Canada (and only for the grade nines).

We used to.
In middle school.
It was a project.
I went with this girl and her mom.
Then we wrote a speech about what we learned.

I'm not sure if my High School does it.
But in Middle and Elementary we did.
I didn't go.
My mom is retired and my dad works nights as an X-ray tech.

I used to do that in elementary school...
I went with my dad to work in Manhattan, they always had this huge day planned and a bunch of activities, and I met a bunch of kids to spend the day with.

But after 9/11, security tightened A LOT and now they don't do it anymore.
Which sucks, because it was a lot of fun.

They dont besides I have to go to work w/ my mom sometimes because she doesnt like leaving me home alone for a whole day all by my self and its EXTREMELY BORING my mom is a C.P.A. and the only fun thing was i got to go with my moms secutary out to lunch since she invited me but other that i basically sat there for 7 hours doing nothing and there is no way i could go to work w/ my dad except for family day which is on a sunday in august since he works about Boeing and we couldnt even go to his office since my dad is one of the higher people there and he had confidental stuff on his desk and so did every one around him and to be truthful it was REAL boring

My mom's work is fun.
She's an elementary school teacher.
And her little kiddie students are soooo adorable!
But, I haven't gone there in a while :'(

I went to work one time with my dad. Everyone there had no personality and they were very....eh. Boring.
