So tired smelling pot everywhere!!!

One of the tennis players at the US Open Tennis Tournament complained of smelling pot while playing. She was on Court 17 which is an open air court, not walled in, in which the smoke would have been contained in. Someone was probably smoking BEHIND the stands (or in the park, outside the venue, a few hundred feet away, as they suspect,) and it wafted across the court.

Although, I wouldn't want to be in the pot smell, I wouldn't mind hanging with Snoop Dogg, what a person to use in the complaint.

I know pot is alleged to be "safer" than alcohol but if you are drinking at a party or at a concert, I'm not subjected to a horribly offensive smell. I get nauseated smelling pot just as much as cigarettes. Maybe someone will create a unscented plant, lol.

Your post reminds me of my high school days in the 1970s. I had a few acquaintances who had “Cool Moms or Dads” who were more than happy to discretely sell to students.

To be honest, I don't even care if he uses cannabis, as long as he doesn't smoke it and keeps me in the loop as to his use. I'd rather have him use cannabis than alcohol. I will be honest in saying that our frank approach to MJ has been a boon as he has very little interest and has told us that when he is curious, he'll talk to us first. I hope this is true.

I can't stand the smell of alcohol on someone's breath. Ew! That nauseates me. Probably because I don't drink myself.

They have vapes, edibles, and even cannabis seltzers now. That's why I'm kind of shocked at all the smoke smell in public posts. I thought most people were only smoking at home.

That said, there are lots of people who get nauseous, allergic reactions, and/or migraines from perfumes and other scents. But that doesn't prevent anyone else from going out in public with scents on their skin. I don't think people are being purposefully bothersome. I think it just doesn't affect them so they don't think about anyone else having a potential issue with it.

OMG IT DID . My sister and our two friends were in vacation with my family when we were teens, we all had a shower then went out on a small fishing boat together and all the boat boy could smell was our hair. we were teens and he was cute, it was great

I remember back in college, a friend used to be addicted to poppers and they STANK. He'd sniff them in our common room and they were just the worst.

After reading through most, if not all, of the posts I have to admit a bit of confusion. Pot, smells like Skunk? I have experienced both in my lifetime and Pot smells nothing like Skunk. So either those that think so either have never experienced the pungent odor of skunk or they have never been in an area where pot smoking was happening. Pot has its own kind of sweet smelling odor that is all it's own and not even close to anything else. So maybe those that were telling their kids that it was skunk they were smelling might have actually been skunk.

That's what we used to call the cheap stuff. The really good stuff smelled way different. Homegrown had that earthy, moldy smell. Lately, most of the pot I've been smelling has that nasty smell.

I actually love the smell of pot- I have a bunch of plants growing in my backyard right now and I even like the smell of unsmoked pot.

I don't think pot is legal where I live (midwestern college city) and I've never consumed pot in anyway. That said, last year I worked at a local fast food chain where it was "my pleasure" to serve guests. MAN so people would drive through while actively smoking (let alone was there a vague smell from before. I remember one car that pulled up and all of the windows were down - and when one went down, it looked (I swear) like they had a fog machine. People 2-3 lanes over were impressed/noticed how much they were smoking and had kept all of it in their car. It was nuts.

It’s legal where I live and I truly couldn’t care less if people use it or don’t. But the smell is horrible. My neighbour smokes in his backyard and we have to shut all the windows. I work from home and the smell just isn’t what I want people smelling in my home.

I have no right to ask him not to smoke on his own property but between his pot smoke and the neighbour on the other side smoking cigarettes in his driveway I get stuck with the smell.
