Last month we got a bill that was almost double what it usually is.
When we called we were told our meter wasn’t working right so they replaced it. Sure would have been told but no
We have automatic payment so the money comes out on the certain day every month.

Tonight we noticed they just brook out 58$ and some odd cents
Now we did not authorize any payment also this amount is no where close to what we owe
Nor did they contact us they were taking this amount out for whatever reason.
I said to DH we should dispute with the bank since we didn’t authorize it. He wants to wait and talk to them on Mon.
I feel this is totally wrong
Just curious what would you do
 
This is an example of why I avoid setting up automatic payments whenever possible, especially with an expense that can vary from month to month. At this point I would end the automatic payments ASAP. I prefer to inspect each bill before paying it, so that I can follow up if there is an issue.
