So this is what mid-life crisis feels like? Dec 2011 PTR

So exciting that you got your flights changed to earlier. I'm sure the kids won't mind missing an extra day of school. And now you can go see those decorations over at Fort Wilderness!!

So remind me, what day are you arriving at WDW?

Friday the 16th! :goodvibes

And I got our reservation for WCC at 5:25 and plan on heading over to Fort Wilderness after. Such a great, fun idea! We still may hit Epcot after! Anything goes!

That was the whole point of getting someone that I'm friends with in on my plans. I want to do it to lose some weight or alternatively get in better shape :lmao: but I can never get into a routine of doing things or keeping things up, so doing this with someone, we're doing every training day together, minus my October and quick December trip times. We waited to sign up because right now we're not confident in ourselves since we haven't even started! By the next price increase in October,we'll know for sure whether or not we can do it! I have a couple Ipods I could bring, but we're hoping talking to each other will make it seem more painless!

As far as a room is concerned, we have several options, I'll have my AP in case good rates come out, then there is the Run Disney rate, and a back up of renting DVC points, but I think if we rented DVC points we'd have to stay at OKW for two beds, which is not a sponsor hotel.

Our training is starting a week from Tuesday! So we'll be starting a hair under six months away!

Keep doing awesome with your training!:cheer2:

:yay: It's so much easier with a friend! Right now, DH occasionally goes with me but he's been MIA the past week. In his defense though, he's in his busiest sports season of the year - football - so he's pretty tired. What frustrates me to no end, is I'm up to 2 miles, and he was able to run that in about a week's time. Took me longer than that! :confused3

I'm hoping for non-freezing temps! I had heard that last year it was unusually cold. We've only ever been in late May/early June and never had an issue with temp being anything less than hot and humid! :rotfl2: So, I'm trying to get it through my head 'what to pack.' Any suggestions??

Do you think the tinkering and tweaking and thinking about doing tinkering and tweaking is some sort of DISease? :rotfl2:

First, I think December is going to be hard to pack for. I mean... morning and evening temps are bound to be chilly... but during the day it maybe warm or even hot. You can bet that come november I will be watching the weather trends in Orlando. I know that things can change. I probably won't finalize a packing list until the 10 day forcast is released...and even then... 10 days prior to the start of my trip is still only going to give me a small glimpse. I could look the day before we fly out and still not see a full picture cause we will be gone 14 days. :confused3

And...about having the DISease :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I am pretty sure I have that...yep...for sure. ;)
Yes no missing your dismeet. LOL. :rotfl:

Is it weird that the ride on DME will be a highlight for me? Normally, everyone in my family are cranky from the long flight. Zoe may be a bit fussy...but she (like me and I assume like you) will be excited to be on our way to Pop. It will be so nice to do that final travel with someone who is excited to be going. The stinky boys can ride the bus together and complain about how I am MAKING them go again...and NOT bring me down as I pass through those arches!!! :woohoo: So..no... I don't think I will be changing... now that I think about how important it is to me and my vacation outlook. ;)

shhhh... honest abe... she actually said Nolan because she thought it looked too old to be Nate... which compared to our 2007 trip pics in here, Nate does look older in this pic... because he's 6 and not 4. :goodvibes

:lmao:She is very funny and honest! I don't mind the winning part and the points thing, you can give her the point!

:thumbsup2 I'm giving you a point for being the nice sweet person that you are! In fact, I think I will give a point to all of you that are still reading my PTR! :rotfl: Right now, I think we are down to 4 + me? :rotfl:

Oh thank you.... now if you can convince Dh that I'm sweet I'd really like that! Yeah there are not that many following... I think that as it gets closer we will have more people join us!
Congrats on the flight change! It sounds nice! If you don't want to go to a park maybe join that camp fire since you will be there to eat anyway:confused3 and then you can cross off Chip and Dale!

I think that packing wise I am just going to bring some short sleeve shirts and have long sleeve underneath and some coats and hoodies just in case- although my cold is different from the south cold! But I think that way if we get warm we can take off the long sleeves and if we get cold we can add a layer! And pants I am going to just stick with jeans!

That's good for you Ann! You can spend that time with Zoe and enjoy the ride! maybe notice things you had not before with the complaining!

Thought I would do a points total update before I go to bed! :goodvibes

It's a close one, ladies! :thumbsup2

Ann - 8 points
Susan - 8 points
Tammie - 7 points
Heather - 4 points
Melanie - 3 points

I may not have one picture accounted for on my tracking sheet but I will go back and double check. But for now... I'm going to say it's anyone's game! :rotfl:

I guess come the week before the trip I will be stalking the weatherman!

Do you think the tinkering and tweaking and thinking about doing tinkering and tweaking is some sort of DISease? :rotfl2:

If it is a DISease...I have it bad!:lmao: I think this DISease has taught me to be a stalker...and you know what, if I need another career someday this might pay off...I am getting really good at stalking!

So after the good influence of my dis friends, Ann and Tammie glad to know I could help..., I began thinking about moving our departure time to the morning so we could get there mid-day and enjoy the resort and 'do whatever.' This would make 3 days of school missed for my children... but seriously... what's one more day, right?? :rolleyes1

And what is worse we work for a school system! :lmao:
:rotfl:

I'm back I'm back! Grats on being able to change your flight to the earlier one! Especially changing on the airports dime!

:thumbsup2 on getting your flights changed for FREE!!! It must have been a sign that you needed that extra time at Disney! :rotfl: To me, anything thing can be a sign for more time at Disney. I have that DISease as well. ;)

Thank you!! Am very happy about that change!! :goodvibes

Oh friends - I can definitely tell it's football season. Between Eddie's schedule and the boy's schedules, I'm thinking I should be burning some serious calories. ;) Not sure it works like that though... but it does explain my time away from here!

Eddie has another scrimmage tomorrow night, at home thankfully, and the boys play their season openers on Saturday at home. So please forgive me if I bore you to tears with details of their games. I really_really try not to be 'that' parent so I'm telling you up front that I'm not... but I'm also telling you upfront that my boys love the sport and because of that, they do well. :thumbsup2

Nothing to update on the trip. I have decided for sure, and I think I've said this already, that I am going to take the kids to WCC on our arrival night for dinner, tour WL and Fort Wilderness, and then possibly go over to Epcot that evening for EMH. I'm happy we will get settled in earlier in the day, can let the kids swim, have dinner and so forth!! :goodvibes

Today marks my 3 months, 3 weeks away from vacation! Getting really excited and thinking 'hard' about what I need to start shopping for. I've already confiscated the kids swimsuits - they will never notice... :lmao: and I think I may start getting organized! :woohoo:

I had to go out a buy one of those big lidded plastic tubs...I ran out of room in the suitase I was using. I picked up new swim suits and beach towels on clearance the other day! :rotfl2: So I don't have to steal...they would figure it out. Usually by now the pool time is about over...but with yesterday being 104 we decided to keep it up longer...our friends at the weather service that go to church with us said this weather pattern looks like it is going to continue well into October. When he told me this, I asked him to make sure we have a HOT Christmas in Orlando (too early to predict yet).

Share away about your kids and sports. Boo is playing football, Goo soccer, and Abigail is a varisty cheerleader this year (she is the flyer)...so I am sure I will have lots to share with you.

Can you believe that the 3 month mark is just about upon us? Just is crazy to think I booked ours so many months ago.

I don't mind at all hearing about your kids and sports. I can live vicariously. My kids have never been into any of them. Now... my youngest... she wants to join EVERYTHING. :rotfl2: So I am sure i will get my turn with it...but for now...we have to wait.

No problem on filling us in on the sports activities of the boys. These are very important times in their lives. I truly understand what it is like (our oldest played baseball from the time he was five through his first year of college, and our youngest played football from 7 through sophomore year of high school and wrestled from 4th grade through college).

Just thinking as ds broke the arm off of one of the kitchen chairs...how is your new dining set?

That's great that they love to play! I am putting my son back in soccer come the fall! And don't worry about time away from here.... you'll catch up!

This is something that I'm not very proud to write, but we were putting our valuable stuff away in plastic bins and storage bags.... when I saw all of the stuff I already bought for Disney I took a quick moment to decide 'should I use this last bit of room for that stuff or the blankets we might need?'

Of course the blankets won, but I did put the Disney stuff in plastic bags and put all of those in the extra plastic bin:lmao:!

I need lidded plastic tub! I've filled up one suitcase and have a few more things on the way. :rotfl: I need to take pictures - I'm really excited about them. That is going to be my goal this week!

Thank you for the go ahead bragging rights on my kiddos... I can't wait to hear about yours! :goodvibes You tell Ab that I cheered and it paid for my college, along with good grades, so to keep it up! :thumbsup2

I can't believe how close we are getting and I really am so excited to have this to look forward to after the 'hectic' season passes for us! :cool1:
