Thursday evening he was the Jackson family "spokesperson", then family "lawyer", then family "friend", and now this AM "former lawyer".

I didn't think things sounded right, when he kept saying that he ws with the family at the hospital, but no one had actually confirmed to him that MJ had died.

What a tool:sad2:

Wow, I was listening to him go on and on when I was watching CNN the day it happened. I thought this guy was nuts for blabbing as much as he was. If he was on the "ins" with the family, that was one way to get himself on the "outs."

I agree. Thursday he was the family spokesman. In our paper today, he is former family attorney.

He was saying way TOO much about the medication that MJ was on.

I've been watching way too much "E" today. E's true story x 3 or 4 hours.

Anyway, they had interviews w/ him from years ago. He just blabs, and babbles a lot, and always has:confused3.

I do believe what he has been saying about the meds MJ was on. And I also believed that he warned the family that if MJ died and it looked like an overdose, he would yell it from street corners. MJ was surrounded by enablers and no one said no to him. I'm sure Oxman is not a Jackson spokesman anymore. I get the feeling he tried to stop what he saw was going on and was fired.
Even Liza Minelli said when the autopsy results came back it was going to horrific (i'm paraphrasing).

I have no doubt that Micheal probably died from a prescription drug habit, and I think that the Drs involved should and will be prosecuted.

I don't think this man, who isn't even currently involved w/ the Jackson family, has any right or responsibility to keep shooting his mouth off, and continuing his 15 minutes of fame. The media needs to stop humoring him.

I honestly don't get that he is looking for the fame. I mean, I don't think that is his main motivation. But right now he is the only one shedding any light on the possible cause of death. I think he is mad because he knew Michael had a Dr. Feelgood and no one seemed to take heed his warnings of how dangerous this was. I mean, an addiction to oxycontin and daily shots of demeral (sp)? No one needs that. If he truly did say in the past that if MJ died from a probably drug overdose that he would tell all, I think he just kept his word. Until someone comes out and contradicts this guy, like the family, I believe what he is saying. We will just have to wait for toxicology reports, I guess.

i could be wrong but in the multitudes of coverage ive been seeing over the past two days i believe i saw a pic of him as part of the legal team in 2005- he had longer hair, but just as white. so atleast that part of his story apepars to ring true. i also look at it this way- yeah his official title of who he is may keep changing but he is a lawyer- if he lied about that kinda thing on national and internationl tv his reputation as a lawywer would be in the toilet and no one would use him in mho.

and once the statement from lisa marie and liza came out it really rang true for me. and then to defer his cause of death until tox comes back just adds fuel to the fire. one doc interviewed yesterday said well theyll know rite away if there is any in his system. its knowing a) what exactly it is and b) how much it is thats going to take the 4-6 weeks.

Bingo. He and Liza were really close and she has dropped major hints about the amount of drugs he was on. She, nor Lisa Marie, have nothing to gain by lying.

I think he was MJ's former attorney, yet still represents other family members.

He was there during the court case in 2005.

youre one hundread percent right. hmm makes me wonder about he and liz being best friends. if memory serves me correct she had atleast one dr feel good in her life time. she loved him so much i can only presume she tried to save him as well.

It's sad when the family lawyer seems to be the only one who worried about the consequences. Maybe that isn't a fair statement....it is possible that family and friends were concerned with his addiction. i don't know.

i think his family probably was, but didnt know how to stop it. i can understand how he could attract unsavory people who would be yes men to him. this is a man who never really had a childhood nor a normal adolesence. and i also think a lot of people had a problem sayign no to him.

Aparently this lawyer was fired in 2005 during the trial:

Michael Jackson hasn’t been dead three hours and Brian Oxman is on TV everywhere being identified as the attorney for the singer or his family.

He is not.

Michael Jackson’s attorney, officially, is Joel Katz, the respected music lawyer from Greenberg Traurig of Atlanta.

Please, news organizations: Brian Oxman was fired by Thomas Mesereau from Michael’s trial in 2005. I was there. He has no knowledge of Michael’s life for the last several years. Oxman sued Jackson looking for legal fees, and lost.

Jackson’s attorney just prior to Katz was Peter Lopez. Some of his business has been handled in New York by Londell McMillan. Jackson’s manager, recently re-signed, is Frank Di Leo, who has been in Los Angeles with him the last several weeks.

Exactly...I'm thinking MJ was never told no. Money, power and lots of hangers on is a bad combination. Esp if you have a somewhat abnormal childhood and aren't a grounded person. I just watched the video for "Rock With You" and he seemed so normal. This was before any plastic surgery. I think the fame of "Thriller" pushed him over the edge. It was such a remarkable album, maybe he couldn't handle the pressure of following up with an equally brilliant album. When you have made the top selling album in the world, the only place to go is down.

The other problem was the amount of money he had. If somebody said no I'm sure somebody else would have taken the money and said yes. We had this problem with my mom trying to stay out of the nursing home, she had enough money that she skirted all the normal things that catch people in crisis by hiring privately. There was absolutely NOTHING the family could do about it. Considering how many of his family members were estranged, and how many people close to him walked away maybe some of them did try to stop it. Lisa Marie Presley's recent blogs have been interesting about that.

I don't know how close he was with his family before he died but I'm assuming he may have estranged from everyone with the exception of Janet. All that money, and no one looking out for his well being. As you pointed out, if someone did say no to the drugs, he could have easily found someone who would supply him with whatever he wanted. He probably needed some major counseling too. I think he was very sick, mentally. And I'm not even referring to the abuse allegations.

Brian Oxman is a former lawyer and all those other things too. Oxmans' is a family store here locally and it is his family (dad or uncle) that runs it. In fact, Debbie Rowe, MJ's ex-wife also is from here too. Have never seen MJ around, but it's well known around here that they are friends with the Jacksons.
