Most Disney tourist blogs say not to waist a FP on wishes but I'm so tempted. I like the idea of not waiting around for an hour and sitting on the fake grass.
could it be possible to do SDMT and PP at RD, we have three days planned for MK April 24, 28, 29.
or could I grab a FP for wishes as 4th FP option?

yes, completely possible to do MT and PP at rope drop

we always FP+ Wishes regardless of what any blog says because we are in the same boat. I HATE claiming land, then defending it for parades and fireworks.

My teen daughter doesn't like crowds so it is well worth it for me to get a FP+ for it. I'm hoping to score one for our upcoming trip in July. I say go for it. The new area looks great. Enjoy!

I've gathered from the boards that Wishes FP+ tend to be gone well in advance of arrival...so I wouldn't count on it being available as a 4th FP+ when you're there.

If getting a 4th FP+ (or more) throughout the day isn't incredibly important to your touring style/choices, then there's no reason not to get a Wishes FP+ if that's what you want one for.

We are doing it this time. I hate staking out spots. I hate waiting at our spots, I hate the creeping legs and bodies of other people who slowly somehow end up turning spaces for 4 into spaces for 8, and I hate the creeping feeling of a rising turf war while we wait.

So worth it to me. Do the rope drop path to MT. Ride Mine Train, go straight to Peter. Peter will have a short wait already BUT, the new queue is worth it.

While I am not hoping to snag a FP+ for Wishes (not sure if my 5-year-old will be awake at 10 PM) I AM going to try to get one for the MSEP. So if it's worth it to YOU, I say go for it!

I think we may try FP+ for Wishes on our next trip. Over the years our family has had ice cream smeared on us, drinks sloshed on us, and had people sit pretty much "cheek-to-cheek" waiting for fireworks and/ or parades. We still joke about the one time when DS was still in a stroller (he's 15 now) and a lady came up and straddled his stroller so that his only view was of her bottom. Took a while to shoo her off because she didn't speak English and I was not communicating effectively.

For the last few years DW skips the fireworks and goes on back to the room as the kids and I watch the show. Being petite and polite she doesn't fare well in those turf wars. An FP+ set for Wishes just might be a nice alternative for us all.

I wasn't able to make our May trip FP+ reservations until yesterday and I was SO thrilled to snag Wishes for us. We have used it once before and it was great, although it rained that night so they had us all in one tiny area and we were a bit crammed to keep us off the lawn. Had it not rained, we would have had plenty of space and a great view.

Is the hub expansion open yet? I wonder if that has helped with fireworks congestion.

Who is the map person here? I'm sorry I can't remember his name! I'd love to see the map of the wishes FP viewing area.

Robo, I do use his info all the time and was just looking at his maps for best fire works views the other day.

I went ahead and did get a FP for wishes , its one night out of three MK nights. I think we will be just fine, I feel calmer already :)

I feel the same way about the whole grab a spot process for Wishes. I am looking forward to the new PP queue :thumbsup2

I just got on and got Wishes for a second night. It wasn't available yesterday, but it is today. Last night of our trip, too!

yes the Hub is open and being used.

Considering the selection for 4th FP+ has a fair chance of being nothing good anyway, I'm thinking it might be worth it.

I'm going to try it out! Just got it today for April 23rd! Yay!

Below is a "work-in-progress" of my overview of the new Hub.
Some of the "outer" sidewalks shown have not been built yet.
Some of the unfinished areas have since been finished.
Again, a work-in-progress, all the way around.
The original photo is by Scott Keating, posted on WDWMagic.

What a nice thing to say!

The image below still shows the (now removed) "Rose Garden" area.
(It's the S-shaped magenta highlight in the Hub. It's no longer there.)

The new FP+ areas (seen in my previous post) are not on the below map, either.
(They would be shown in green as "Prime viewing.")
