Going there for Easter dinner....sad to say, I've never been! What can I expect? Any info?

The food is great and plentiful! It is served family style and they keep refilling it as you run out of any individual items. It started with an appetizer tray, then moved on to meat kabobs (turkey, pork, beef & shrimp), and then a wonderful pineapple with caramel sauce dessert. This was probably the best meal we had in our entire stay! Even picky 'ol DH was impressed with this meal... LOL.

Darn... now I'm hungry

It was awesome!! We went 6 months ago, and my husband and I still talk about the food at O'hana. We can practically taste it!! The Food was so yummy and it kept coming! Make sure you go hungry, because you won't want to miss a thing. Chicken, Pork, Shrimp and Beef are all served family style and you can have as much as you want. My DD(8) was not to thrilled with the food, but I learned from these boards, that you can request a separate kids menu from the restaurant next door and order something off that for half the price of O'Hana. The kids loved the coconut races and the hula hoop contests. The desserts were fabulous!! It was one of our more expensive meals, but it was worth every penny!! We'll make sure its on our list to do next time when return to WDW. Let us know how you liked it.:jumping1: :cool1: :cool1:

I'm looking forward to going to 'Ohana this June. We made a PS for our arrival night. I'm excited becasue this sounds very similar to a restaurant we have here in Memphis called Texas de Brazil. It's a bit more upscale, and has a Brazillian flair rather than a Polynesian flair, but the concept is the same-- the servers bring around skewers of meat, as much as you like, to accompany the side orders on the table. It's a great place to go, but very expensive (actually more expensive than 'Ohana!).

Also, Texas de Brazil doesn't have kids pushing coconuts around the dining room with broomsticks. This, I'm sure, is a BIG plus for 'Ohana. ;)

We just went first time for supper in March. One way to describe it....MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

If you can find out when Wishes is the particular nite you want to go it is a great place to see it. Ask for a window seat if possible but if not most are understanding if you stand at the window to see as long as they can see too;)

Food is very good, and atmosphere is too. GO HUNGRY!!

Hi Stepharoonie,

'Ohana is (IMHO) one of the best values on Disney property. Ask for a table in the main dining room where you can see the fire. Man, I can picture the appetizers now, and it's really making the raspberry Pop Tart I have for breakfast look not good.

They also have a nice vegetarian platter for those who don't eat meat - The same price though

We tried it for the first time on our trip in October - and I can't believe we had never been before!!! We really enjoyed dinner, and my little girl loved the hula hoop contest and the coconut contest! The lapu lapu was also very good!!!

I've already made our reservations for our upcoming trip in July!!

Will be there at 6:45 on Easter Sunday! See ya there!

Our ressies are for 9:10 that night :) We were hoping to get there a little later to watch Wishes on the beach before we go in...but oh well :)

When you say that meat kabobs (beef, pork, chicken & schrimp) are served, are they single meat kabobs, i.e. all beef on one stick, or are they mixed? Wife and I dislike seafood and the thought of the schrimp mixed with the things we like would turn us off to Ohana's. Other than that it sounds like a place to try. We go every couple of years and each time we like to try a couple of new restaurant.

I'm going to move this to our Restaurant's board for you.

4myprincesses -

think "skewers,", more than "kabobs." Like maybe three feet long. More like a sword than a littke kabob stick. Your cousin pushes a few pieces of whatever you want on to your plate. Each type on different skewers. good dipping sauces and sides, too, just barely exotic enough to be flavorful and interesting, but still easily approachable for picky eaters, imho.
