I know the basics: before you leave, either find the flyer or ask at the desk about bounceback. It's a discount (how much??) off a room that you book THERE AND THEN for a future date.

OK-- here's what I don't know:
-- how much of a discount? Can it be combined with AAA (OK, doubtful, but I'm keeping my options open)

-- we're going in August-- would it likely be availble? For which dates? (total speculation, I realize)

-- Do you have to bounce back to the same resort? Or can you change? (This is starting as a once in a childhood trip. There's no way we can afford the Poly twice!) I'm thinking POR or the Family Suites at ASM

-- Any other details I should know?

I booked bounceback for our family when I went for a quick trip w/ my mom end of January. We are booked for August 10 - 17 at BC. The promotion dates for August started on August 10th, you can book for a different resort (does not need to be the resort where you are currently staying), they will tell you room only, but I was able to book dining plan; discount was 30% off room rate for mods and deluxes and I believe 20% off values, also there was a 40% discount for DVC properties, but the dates were different.

:goodvibes Here's a little Bounceback fyi - hope it helps!

I know the basics: before you leave, either find the flyer or ask at the desk about bounceback.
FYI - Bouncebacks are NOT offered year 'round, just sometimes, so other DISers reading this should know that they might or might not be staying when one will be going on/ offered. There might not be any flyers, TV scrolls, or other info if none are offered while you are there. ;)

Bouncebacks may also be for something other than room discounts - see below :cutie:

Of course no one knows what they will offer this year, but last year for guests staying in Aug/Sept (and extended to guests to Oct 12) instead of a discounted rate Bounceback they actually offered a "Free Dining" Bounceback - this Bounceback allowed guests who booked it while they were at WDW peace of mind knowing that they already had the free dining booked a whole year in advance of the rest of us who had to wait in a frenzy until this April '08 to book it  :

Last year info:

THIS IS EXPIRED
Bounceback Free Dining Promotion
This offer is available ONLY to guests staying at one of the official Walt Disney World resorts between 8/31/07-9/28/07.

Using a special phone number provided on some resort restaurant receipts or on a flyer provided in some resort rooms, you can book a vacation package for next year, for stays between 8/30/08-9/27/08, at a Walt Disney World resort with theme park tickets and receive the Dining Plan for FREE.

If you don't get the offer on a receipt or a flyer in your room, ask at the front desk.

There is a 3-night minimum stay requirement. Reservation for 2008 must be made before you check out and no later than September 28, 2007 to qualify (*NOTE - this was extended through 10/12/07). A $200 deposit is required at time of reservation.

and more info:

In order to qualify guests must book the discount while staying at a Disney owned and operated hotel for a minimum of three nights during the promotion period ( August 31 through September 28, 2007) and place a deposit prior to check out.

Guests may request to give booking credit to a travel agency of their choosing when they place their deposit.

Additional nights may be added at the same discounted rate. Guests may book one package per adult on the current reservations (up to three rooms)at this discounted rate , although a separate deposit is required for each room.

Guests are currently being informed of the offering via resort tv ads, promotional flyers, and messages on certain receipts.

-- Do you have to bounce back to the same resort? Or can you change? (This is starting as a once in a childhood trip. There's no way we can afford the Poly twice!) I'm thinking POR or the Family Suites at ASM

You could book any resort (not just the one you were staying at) as long as there was availability, with a $200 deposit down, and you had to book prior to check out.

-- how much of a discount? Can it be combined with AAA (OK, doubtful, but I'm keeping my options open)
Discounts can't be stacked. HockeyMomR posted about the "other" type of non-free dining, room discounts type Bounceback that was offered during her stay last January.

Good luck and I hope something great opens for you! :yay:

Wow, if last year's data holds true, we'll miss it-- we're going 8/13 to the 19th. And, as teachers, that's about as late in summer as we can push. I'll check next year's dates; if Labor Day is later we get a longer summer.

We've been saying all along that this is a once in a child, pull out all the stops extravaganza. STill, though, I think I'll keep an eye out and maybe ask at the desk.

Thanks for the info!
