so talking good neighbors, what's your opinion of the Best Western Park Place Inn vs the Residence Inn Anaheim Convention Center

a new question.

what's the difference between Best Western Park Place Inn and the Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn?

is there a difference?
Just from reading the reviews of both and looking at BWPPI vs. BWPAI threads it seems like the difference is location, room size/set up, and a slightly nicer aesthetic of the rooms. Although Plus Anaheim Inn is still very close to the gate, BWPPI is directly across the street making it slightly closer. Although, honestly, the difference in walking distance between the two is somewhere between 1-3 minutes depending on how fast you walk. I'd say walking from both is anywhere from 5-7 minutes to the gate.

I will be staying at BWPAI in two weeks this time around because it opened up for me during the dates I wanted (and believe me, I snatched that up fast), so I can come back and give my thoughts on it. I think either would be fine, however, as Best Western usually has pretty clean properties and reasonable rates. And quite honestly, the room aesthetics of the BWPPI seem a little too...gaudy for me? The decor and bedding and what not in Plus Anaheim Inn looked much cleaner and less whacko. *shrug* To each their own, though. I guess that's why I'm not a fan of staying in dated 90s motels.

BWPPI is 'mini-suites' where it has sort of a separated living area (but not closed off with door). The BW Plus Anaheim Inn is typical rooms (2 queens or 1 king). I have stayed at both -- clean and super convenient. Residence Inn is also great and many of their rooms do have a door that separate the living areas from bedroom. I would say RI is a bit quieter due to the indoor hallways. I like this setup for when I take my teen kids and not have to pay for a separate room. RI is a bit further away walking wise, but not undoable. There is also a nice coffee place and walgreens (or is it cvs) on the corner to be able to pick up necessities quickly.

yes, looking at the pictures, BWPAI looked a little cleaner, but it's so hard to say from pictures..
it would be great if you could come back into this thread after and give your opinion
since i'm only going in a year, even if i book now, i can cancel and switch right up to the last minute..

Both BW are motels. Park Place has harder parking restrictions and a bit louder being literally right across from the Crosswalk. Anaheim Inn is triple the distance -- takes 100 steps more ;) More typical room layout. They can accommodate parking a little better than PPI's pretty strict in/out times.

The decision point between either BW vs RI/Convention center rooms -- if we're closing out the park at night and really don't want that 15-20min walk at the end of the night. If you're dead tired, no amount of noise is going to wake you up over the 6-8 hours

When you say triple the distance, it makes me shiver, but I know what you mean. I'm used to walking distances like Sheraton Park Hotel. This is going to be SO much closer to the gate and I think I'm going to freakin' love that. My poor little tootsies will be relieved to only have to walk 100 more steps. And I will definitely write up a little review on my stay. Quite honestly, I'm just happy I'm going to be staying about a 6 minute walk from the park as opposed to 15-20 minutes, which is what we normally do. And I refuse to drive and pay $25 extra to park my car in one of the garages!

Of the two BWs that are right there, I prefer the BWPAI- I like the setup of the breakfast room far better than walking over to Captain Kidd's. Offerings are very similar as I recall.

But I don't really take advantage of the "mini-suite" areas at BWPPI either, so .... YMMV!

you have to walk over to captain kidds for the BWPPPI breakfast?

.

Unless they've changed that since the last time I stayed... anyone else stayed more recently that can confirm?

To be clear, my understanding is that the food itself is prepared by hotel staff and not Captain Kidd's staff, if you're worried about that. And it's literally just across a narrow parking lot... no distance to speak of.

Yes, still above Captain Kids. From my understanding, BW Anaheim does not allow food to leave their dining room. This has prevented me from staying there. If I'm paying $200+ per night, I'm grabbing a banana for rope drop.
where do you stay?
