Nope. Nope. NOOOO.
Absolutely not. Couldn't pay me to wait this long (negotiable).

what was the actual wait time though? I had heard about an hour all day and that's amazing for soarin standby.

Just running through the disneyworld reddit comments:

-We showed up at epcot around 8:45 this morning, they were already letting people go to the land and the line was a huge crowd outside the doors.
We were wondering if they hadn't opened the line yet but nope, when we got inside it was already a 3 hour+ line

-Standby is currently showing 240 minutes on my app. Holy hell. I know it's indoors and air conditioned, but still, four hours for a ride?

-Looks like it's down to 75 now from my app. I don't think I've ever waited longer than 45-60 minutes for an attraction but that's just my stubborness.

-Mine says 120 now, which is a long wait but not unreasonable. It is opening day, after all.

-Literally just got off the ride. Said a 75 minute wait when we got in, we were through the line and ride in 35 or so.

it was 4 hours the day before (actual wait time) for the old film so 35 or even 60 minutes is a huge improvement. I don't think soarin has seen below an hour in a long long time. I wouldn't wait but then again if it's a must see, I might.

The official app has just been very wrong lately. I wonder if they are still having some theater issues with A and B since a big change would be a theater not in use and messes with wait times.

Is this the new movie? Is it GREAT?

I saw those pics and was amazed at the line and was very happy that we have FP for Wed! But we were at Epcot tonight and around 8:20 checked that app and it said 'Soarin had a 25 min line! We rushed over to Soarin' and the posted wait was 25 minutes, but it only took us six minutes to get on the ride! So, we got to ride new Soarin'for the first time and had time to get back on and ride it again. The second time was basically a walk-on. It was a great treat for DD's birthday and a great start for our vacation! And we loved the new film.

Enjoy the ride, :bday:to your daughter, and have a pixiedust: magical trip!!

Holy Cow!! No way! And I can't help but think I would be pretty mad if I wanted to get food at the Sunshine Seasons.

Just wanted to mention that the line looks long but I heard from reports it moved quickly and two hours or less.

Crazy, as I said in a previous thread if I haven't got a FP+ and even though I really want to see the new movie, there is no way I'm waiting those sort of times..

Also have they made any improvements to the queue? as what I can remember (from about 5 years ago) it wasn't a very exciting queuing experience even for the little time I did wait. by that I mean not as interactive as HM or the SDMT queues.

Oh my! Soarin feet! Is this the only time I am pleased to be in a wheelchair....

From the sounds and looks of it, if that huge queue is really only around a 2 hour queue they really should have extended the queuing area as well as building a new theatre!

Good to know the new film is a hit. I was (only slightly) worried that the film wouldn't be as good as the old one.

I listened to the podcast this morning while getting ready for work, and when they started discussing Soaring I loved hearing Kathy's (@safetymom), Julie's, and Craig's (@Teleclashter) perspectives. I didn't notice the Taj Mahal being cgi, so that didn't bother me, but as soon as the whale came up I realized that that was cgi... I'm kind of siding more with Craig regarding the over-the-top cgi used in the filming of Soarin' Around the World. I guess I had the same expectations that this would be more realistic type virtual adventure as opposed to so much animation added in. Also, in Soarin' Over California I never noticed the pictures being skewed, and in the new movie the pictures were skewed enough that it was distracting to me. I sat in the right section, about 4 chairs in from the end. Maybe I've never been that far out in previous viewings of Soarin'. I'll be sure to request center section from now on.
