So since the new FP reservations, have you still been able to wing it?

I've now been to Disney twice with FP+. I was definitely happy with having FP for my top picks walking into the park and not having to bounce all over getting FP like during past trips. Had those 3 but was able to just wing it the rest of the day and see and do everything i wanted to. My main complaint is the tier system. I hate it, and think all should be first come first serve. Because of the tiers, I struggle to find 3 FP in Epcot.

What's 'the tier system'? Going in June and starting to plan around my FP's.

EPCOT uses a tier system to choose the FPs that you can get. Test Track, Soarin' and Maelstrom are in Tier 1, choose one only and basically all the other attractions at EPCOT are in Tier 2. So, all the attractions that my family wants to ride at EPCOT are not available to choose for FPs. In Legacy FP system, I would do all three as FPs and Maelstrom wouldn't even need a FP. I'm a bit bitter about EPCOT, but I'm sure I'll get over it eventually. :thumbsup2

Forgot about the original question. We winged it last week a bit, didn't use all the FPs that we selected before entering the park. Quite a few times we picked attractions that supposedly had a long wait time only to find that the wait time was significantly less than posted. I waited 20 minutes to meet Rapunzel and Cinderella, posted wait was 60 minutes. I really wanted to be in that air conditioning. :lmao:

Oh yikes that Epcot tier system does suck. Of course those are the 3 people want.
I guess the online FP has its plus and minuses

Only been to MK so far but a big YES. Did more multiples on this visit than any time before and only used 4 FPs all day. People complain about standby lines, especially for attractions that never had them, but standbys were never horrible. This was on a very crowded day no less. The app worked flawlessly for us and is such an improvement over running to and fro. Did have to use a kiosk for our 4th but cast members were manning all stations and were there to guide us through the process. Went home happy and impressed.

Glad to see mostly positive posts in this thread. I'll report back too after next week! I'm thinking it will all work out well for us, too.

Since EPCOT is the only place with the Tiers, I am really really hoping they are going to phase it out. HWS and MK both have just as many rides I would consider "T1" to pick from, and none of them use the system. It's just a pain. Really, my only complaint.

We booked our 3 FP+ each day, but hardly ever used them. We didn't use the old FP system either. So our trip in March was just as much in the "wing it" spirit as any of our trips prior to FP+. FP+ is nice to have, but you don't have to use them to have a good vacation and get on everything you want to ride.

DHS has tiers also. See the green link in my signature for more info.
