My wonderful aunt was struck down last week by a brain aneurysm. It's been nearly a week and she is still in a coma and critically ill. This has devastated our entire family. She is my mom's youngest sibling and has always been a very vibrant, fun person. Her husband, children, and grandchildren depend on her for so much. Not to mention our huge extended family. She is the baby of 8 kids and has dozens of nieces and nephews. We are all very close. She and her husband were supposed to be going with us to Disney next week. Some of us will still go because we have so much invested already and there isn't anything we can do but wait and see where my aunt is concerned. But it's hard to feel any joy about it.

My prayers are with your family. Our son lost his fiancee' a couple years ago to a brain aneurysm at the age of 24. It was very sudden and very devastating.

Oh, I am so sorry. My nephew (by marriage) suffered a brain aneursym when he was 24 and survived. He is the father of two daughters now and although there was some impairment he is a fully functioning member of society so there is always hope. My prayers are with you and your family, too.

I'm so sorry to see this. Thoughts & prayers for your family. And try to enjoy your trip; you know your aunt would want you to have a good time.

:flower3: hugs and prayers from my family to yours. That is a very difficult position for you all to be in. Hope that you are able to enjoy your trip even though your hearts will be with her. praying for a recovery for her.

Our prayers are with your family and hope that your aunt recovers soon.

I'm so sorry to read this. I hope you enjoy your vacation for your aunt's sake and know how much she would relish it.

Blessings to you and your family at this very difficult time.

Thank you all for your words of support. Things with my aunt have declined rapidly. She will never recover. Now it's just a matter of time. Her brain is too damaged for any kind of meaningful life no matter what.

My prayers are with you. We had this situation about a year and a half ago with my mom- with a positive odds defying result. I will share my experiences and all that I know. Pm me for my email address - I can offer you hope and all that I know and have experienced.

My dear aunt passed away Wednesday afternoon. We were blessed to have her and I am so glad we spent so much time together having fun. My family will never be the same but we are together in our grief. We will still take our trip next week. We are trying to decide on a way to honor my aunt's memory during the trip.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. So sorry to hear about your loss but it sounds like you have a great support system to help you get through this tough time. Hopefully, you will get some "Disney magic" next week and be able to honor her. Maybe go to her favorite restaurant or go on her favorite ride or attraction. She will always be in your heart and from the sounds of what kind of person she was, she touched many lives and that will live forever.
