I was watching our ABC news and they just played a tape of a flight attendent on Flight 11 calling the American Airlines desk for help. She said they couldn't get in the cockpit and no one was answering them, she had no clue what was about to happen. They played it today at a hearing in Washington.

Still gives me chills to hear those kind of things. :(

Yes - it's painful to see and hear those things - but I also think it's very important that it stays in the forefront of peoples minds.. When people start to forget, they become apathetic - and that's something we can't afford to do - EVER.. :(

I agree that we can never forget that day. I often feel as though people have. However, it can be pretty unbearable to hear that type of thing. My great aunt was on that very flight, and we all had to leave the room when that came on. It's not something easy to hear.

I saw it too. It sickened me to think what was happening on the flight, but at the same time I admire Ms. Ong's calm, informative demeanor. She was a solid professional under the worst possible conditions:(

Oh my! I am SOOOO very sorry to hear that.. :( I was just listening to the news myself and heard the recording.. The good part (if there can even BE a "good" part in hearing that recording) is that the flight attendant sounded very calm and collected and hopefully was able to help the passengers remain calm too...

They can play this stuff from now until doomsday and I'll always have this feeling of - "I can't believe that happened here....." :(

Again, so sorry for your loss..

I think there are a lot of us that agree. Although it is very real to my family we still can't believe it happened. Every image, and this is the case with others too, brings that feeling of "this has to be a bad dream, this couldn't have happened", even though it did.
And thank you.

When excerpts from that day and the following ones are played for various reasons on TV today, or I read an article in a book, magazine or what have you, I still pause for a moment, thinking it really did not happen. It is so big. :(
