So sad...our LSS is closing...:(

A Time For Memories in Grafton, MA will be closing on July 31st. I have taken many classes there and enjoyed being able to pop in and pick up things you can't get at the big stores. So many of these small stores have gone in the past couple of years...

too many people are going digital - mine is sticking around but she doesn't carry much - it is more of a school supply for teachers

I still have a couple close by....they all carry a bunch of different lines, but only go if I'm looking for something special! still usually hit M's or J's or shop on-line for the bulk of my stuff

That stinks. My local LSS closed last year in Southern New Hampshire. I loved going in there, they always had such pretty things. I do go to M's and AC Moore, but it isn't the same.

That is too bad. We still have 2 LSS in the local area - "Life's Memories and More" in Palmer, MA and "Inspiration Station" in Stafford Springs, CT. I do enjoy them so much more because of their variety and their employees who give personal service.
In this economy, with so much competition, the smaller busineeses find it tough to stay afloat. We are so lucky to have these 2.

I used to have several fairly close to my house and now there is only 1 left, plus an Archivers across town.

We only have one very small local scrapbooking store near me. It doesn't carry a whole lot though. My best friend and I make an Archiver's run usually 3x per year. It's a 3 hour drive to Archivers, and we normally stay overnight and shop there as well as at the malls in the area.
