Well just had to share...
Yep, thought I was so smart, got a new external hard drive for christmas and finally got around to moving pictures and videos to it and to free up the hard drive on the desktop.
LOST!! ....ALL my super fabulous collection of DISigns somehow in the process... I would swear i moved them... but nope GONE!!
All the magical disigns that Natalie, Veronica, Kelly, Dolly, Dom, Marion, Mel, Kari and so many others were so kind to share their time and talent. The special tags people made for Lauren's DCL wish trip... Ugh.. I am just so sad....
I will troll the boards I guess and try to recover some of them...*sniff*
Just sharing, if you got this far into my pity party I commend you for reading!...LOL

You might consider taking it to a computer company and seeing if they can find it. It could be in your temporary storage... Did you delete or cut and paste?

A relatively quick way to do a search for threads where you posted requests is to click on "search this forum" which is on the right side of the screen just above the posts in a navy/dark blue bar. Then click "advanced search" and do the "search by user name" and but your name "3charbys" in the space and click "search now". Then it will pull up all of the threads where you made a post. Hope that helps a little!

Thanks Dolly... I have a friend who does the IT for the local school division... I am hoping I can prey upon his good nature and ask him to have a look for me...hoping he can do his magic for me!

Oh I am so sorry to hear about what happened to you. That is just awful (and sadly I know, I have been in your shoes). Not that it helps this time but I know have my computer backed up on carbonite.com. They have a annual service that backs-up your computer no matter how much space you require! I know that there are other sites like this (and it is so easy to move your stuff from an old to new computer) but this is the one recommended to me and it has been great. I know that you can try and google to try and get a code to save a few dollars too should you be interesed.

Sorry and I really hope that your friend could help! I know I would be beside myself right now.

Oh No - sorry to hear that!!

another way to search, (which is bascially what dolly said)...............- is to look at your initial post here, over to the left you'll see your name - click on it, then you'll see "find more post by Charby" - if you click that it'll take you to all your post.......... hopefully you can recover your lost designs.

I'm in the same boat as you right now. I have been saving pictures (to use as backgrounds on my desktop) and DISigns for about three years now and our hard drive just crashed. I will find out in the next couple of days if any of it can be recovered.

Here's some for you...hopefully your friend can recover your files from your hard drive.

I recommend a ClickFree external backup. You plug it in and it knows which files are new and all your photos, documents, music, etc. are backed up without a single click. You can even set up some of the models to backup on a schedule. It is not called a ClickFree for nothing!! Love mine!!!

It will do multiple PCs and keep the files separate too! Comes in various sizes. Think mine is 320 GB.
