We were also asked at rope drop if this was the first park we had been to on our trip. We happened to have left our house at 5 AM, dropped off our luggage at our resort, and drove straight to the MK. When we answered "YES", we were taken to Guest Relations and given a survey for 10-15 minutes! So, sometimes it's NOT what you think....

But we did get to walk down Mainstreet ahead of the crowd. THAT was cool!

I definately wouldn't have guessed that's where you were headed.

While I agree that the family most likely didn't win the castle stay I know how you feel about "almost" winning. We had and AWESOME Easter trip 10 days of parks, water parks and lots ofother fun but not one Dream. We were next to a family at Ecpot who won the 4 parks trip and just behind groups given dream fastpasses twice, once at Figment and once at Buzz. Its a little weird I must say but all in all we were happy for those who won and just having a great vacation

You weren't rude. Or wrong. I agree with you and the others that the castle stay was NOT the prize awarded to that other family.
Family friends won a night in the castle (and were featured in the AAA magazine for Southern New England, as well) and no "right answer" was necessary to qualify...there's my anecdotal evidence, FWIW. Furthermore, as this is an advertised contest, very strict rules must be followed to avoid legal problems, especially when the prize is worth a lot of money and people are likely to notice and complain about misconduct in the selection process. The same cannot be said of "Family of the Day" which is not a promotional tool and as such is not subject to the various legalities of certain YOAMD prizes.
