i'm sorry everyone, i really can't control myself, lol, i've received notice today that my DD8 (2nd grade) qualifies for the gifted program at her elementary school-i meet w/ the county coordinator thursday to go over the details!
as if that weren't exciting enough, she took a STAR reading test last week, and the report says her grade equivalent is 7.3 (this means she reads at the level of a seventh grader who's been in seventh grade 3 months) and her instructional reading level is 6.4 (this is the level at which she's at least 80% proficient at recognizing words and comprehending what she reads-sixth grade & 4 months)!!
YAY for my DD! i'm so proud of her!
*the preceding shameless brag is brought to you by a normally quiet mom who's currently bursting with pride, please forgive her*
