Now that I've finally landed a ressie here, I've seen a few random posts stating that Le Cellier isn't great for kids. I wanted a ressie for our anniversary trip w/out the kids but there wasn't one available. My kids are 8, 7( will be on trip) and 4. The 4 yo can be a bit loud and difficult when she's cranky (which very well might be the case at WDW) but usually not a problem as I've found a lot of the restaurants at Disney noisy anyways (usually with many other kids) Is Le Cellier not like that? Is it one of those restaurants where the whole room goes quiet and people stare at you if you (or your 4yo) drops a fork on the floor? :rotfl: If so, they might not like us very much!

Don't worry, Le Cellier is noisy and family friendly. You probably won't even hear the fork falling on the floor. The staff is great with kids, and your 4 yo will probably love the pretzel bread.

We took our dd's at 3 & 1 and again at 5 & 3. Like pp stated the staff is great with kids and while we were waiting for our table we went the the Kidcot area in Canada and colored. They had fun.

As PPs have said, Le Cellier is as loud and busy as any other WDW restaurant within a theme park. There will be a ton of kids there. Not to say that anyone should allow their child to disturb others and be loud in a restauant, but it's definitely not an "adults only" establishment.

Kid's are definitely welcome. And yes it is noisy and yes the tables are pretty close together. We've eaten there a few times with DD10 over the years.

Actually one of the reasons we don't go back is the last time we were there the tables were too close together and there was food (french fries) on the floor.:scared1: Plus the service was spotty.

Whew. I was starting to worry a bit. I will keep the ressie and give it a try. Thanks for your replies!

Agreed.

No one is going to notice is your child drops a fork, laughs, or even talks a bit too loud. Now, if they are screaming, crying, and carrying it on then they should be removed... but normal noise won't be out of place at all.

Last time I was there I saw a 10 year old flinging his french fries onto the floor and his parents just ignoring him, so it's fair to say that your 4 year old will be fine!

We have eaten here 3 times and its one of my kids favourite places to go. In fact its a MUST for my 10 year old:)

My kids were 2, 4 and 8 the first time we ate here and now they are 4, 7 and 10. They have always had a great time:)

I do wonder once Le Cellier becomes "signature dining" how this will affect its child friendly nature. Only time tell.

:)Yes. Of course I will remove her if she is screaming and crying. We also have a 19, 8 and 6 yo so we've been dealing with tantrums for a while and can usually head them off. Some restarants are just too quiet for us as a family so I wanted to make sure that's not what we are going to be dealing with.

 Were you guys there on the same day perhaps? Not at a problem for us. My kids love their french fries way to much to throw them!

I do not know why anyone would hesitate bringing a child to Le Cellier. The place was full of kids. One was even making so much noise that my friends who are parents of a three year old said they'd take their kid outside if he acted like that.

At least this kid wasn't throwing food. Years ago I was at Le Cellier and got hit in the head with a piece of broccoli. The tables are so close together that if you have a food thrower you should consider that.

:scared1: Goodness. I'm glad it was something fairly soft at least. I don't think she'd throw food...never has before anyways. Not thrilled about close tables just because I like my personal space. Are the tables in rows or what? We'll have a party of 6 if that makes a diff.

The only place you can not bring young kids is V&A.

Even Bistro seems to have a lot more kids than in the past from what I hear.

You may feel uncomfortable with Kids at Blue Zoo, but only if your kids are noisy or restless.

Noisy and restless is a good way to describe them actually. Noisy as in lauging, being silly with each other and restless as in "Where's my food??" or wanting to get up and go look at something while waiting the food. I don't normally let them get up at restaurants bc dd4 takes that as playtime and that might disturb other diners but at Disney- with character meals and games going on in restaurants- I think it's hard for them to get it. If it took a while for the food to come...I could see wanting to walk dd around or outside to Kidcot like a PP suggested. :) I wouldn't take them in Blue Zoo- not together anyways. I'd take DS8 just about anywhere alone...but when the three are together, he's a whole different kid. :dance3: Where is Bistro?

Oh Bistro the French restaurant. Yes that's another one I'd be leery of.

Then your 4 year old will fit right in! Le Cellier is loud during peak times and depending on where you sit, the other diners will almost be part of your dining party! What I like as far as Le Cellier is that they offer something other than dat gum chicken nuggets/pizza for the kids, yes, some kids actually do eat steak!

I wouldn't worry about it, go enjoy yourselves, if one of the kids has a meltdown, take them for a little walk outside or to the bathroom till it ends and go back in and try again.

When they are busy, service can be an issue, I never thought of pelting my waiter/waitress with broccoli to get their attention! :lmao:

I don't even know if they have broccoli anymore...I could be wrong, the broccoli incident was years ago..but I know it was broccoli as I had to pull it out of my hair.

:teeth: My boys get SOOOO tired of chicken nuggets and pizza. Our favorite cs at MK is Columbia Harbor House bc they love fish and chicken salads. DD is a mac n cheese girl but she even gets tired of it! Steak was exactly what was on my mind when I made this ressie for our family trip. They will all love that.
I wish they would give the option of a smally portion of something each particular restaurant specializes in on their kids menus. My boys will eat curry, sushi, all kinds of seafood, anything spicy, even tofu/tempeh (ds19 is vegan) so they get really bummed out when they see the same things over and over on the kids menu. We usually end up letting them order whatever from the adults menu but at Disney that sure can be expensive! Buffets seem to be our best bet at Disney. They love to try all the different items available but they hardly go to the kids sections at all.

Le Cellier is not a place for kids to be taking a stroll around the restaurant, even if it's kid-friendly. There are no characters or games there. Just so you know!
