Sorry for the ranty title. :headache:

We're planning a December 2008 Escape Wedding, and we're going to WDW on vacation/planning December 10th-16th 2007.

Well, I contacted Randy Chapman and I set up to meet with him while we're on vacation. Okay, no biggie.

Then I contacted Lisa Pena for a Hair/Makeup Trial appointment which that's okay, too. I inquired about hair extensions since I'm self-conscious about my fine hair and she said that she doesn't do them personally but her assistant does. She said I could bring my own extensions to the trial but I don't even know where to go about getting them!

I just know I should probably be making more Hair/Makeup Trial appointments but I'm just getting so overwhelmed thinking about all this stuff I have to cram in to do while we're there for a week.

I mean, we're trying to save money and the hair/makeup trials cost money of course. So if I book three hair/makeup trials we're already talking a little over $300. :sad1:

I'm not even sure what else I should be doing while we're down there. Should I be meeting with the officiants, too?? Should I try to meet with the wedding coordinator(don't have one yet since we're not booked for December 2008 yet)

Ugh! I know it'll be okay in the end but I'm already getting antsy realizing it's almost a year away! I know it'll go by so quickly so I wanted to get a jump start on it so I'm not rushing at the end.

Thank you for listening. I dunno what I would do without you ladies! :grouphug:

we are flying over in feb for ours and I'm seeing peddles florist, doing a run to the courthouse so we know where it is, meeting with misty hopefully, our disney planning session and having a hair trail but just one i tihnk.

i think we will then look around at places to eat for all our family oh and we are going to carolyn allens for suits

Hi!

OK, I think one hair/makeup trial should be fine. Really, all the companies on Disney's list pretty much do the same looks, and it just comes down to difference in price and personality. If you don't like your trial, you will probably be safe going with one of the other makeup artists. Having lots of pictures to show her will help.

You can probably do a site visit while you're down there. They don't seem to be as strict on the 4-6 month window with those. I'd call and ask!

Meeting the officiant might be a good idea, especially if you have strong feelings about the way the ceremony should go. That way you won't be surprised on the day of your wedding.

We didn't do anything besides meet with our photographer and hair/makeup person when we went to WDW, but that seemed like just the right amount of planning! :thumbsup2

Just wanted to pop in and say hi!

We're planning our Escape Wedding for December 2008 too! But, you are much further along than I am...

Since we're on the west coast, I'm doing all my planning via websites and Dis recommendations.

I've sent in a inquiry to Randy, and received a email back from him saying to call since our date is already tentatively held by someone else! :headache: So, I called and left a message and am waiting to hear back... waiting... waiting... waiting... Luckily, the date is not set in stone, so I can be flexible, but I want to know NOW! :snooty:

I'll be doing my own hair and makeup to cut costs, plus, I am picky and would rather do my own makeup the way I want to. As for extensions, maybe you should check with your local beauty parlors? They typically last a few months when "installed", and you'll have some time to play around with it. Or if you are thinking one of those clip-style/ponytail extensions, you can find them at any mall. (at least around here)

With the officiant, I haven't put much thought into him/her yet... but I'll probably just go with one of the Dis recommended people. Some people have videos listed for the officient, and a phone conversation with the person might be all you need to get the "feel" of someone.

One thing I wish I would be going down there to do is to check out the actual wedding sites. There are a lot of pictures available online, but, I just can't seem to get the feeling of the locations from the pictures.

Since Randy might be booked for my date, I am concerned as to when to call the planners. Some people have been able to get "penciled" in for their dates over the 1 year mark, but I have a very hard time calling people, so I'm having the internal battle between anxiety of getting my preferred location vs. anxiety of calling someone.

Alas. I would be completely lost with Dis  and probably wouldn't even do a WDW wedding without the helpful people on here.

OMG! The florist! It completely slipped my mind! Thank you for all the suggestions!

MeowGoddes: Hi! What date did you ask Randy about? He told me that the 8th was booked - not sure if that's the date you were inquiring about, but I was asking about the second week of December 2008 availability.

You sound SO much like me! I hate making all these phone calls I prefer to use e-mail :surfweb: but a lot of these vendors are slow to answer e-mails so I'm forced to call. :rotfl:

I think since we're having a wedding around the same time that it might be fun to keep in contact and bounce ideas off of each other! I'll PM you with my contact info.

Again, thank you for all the ideas! I'm more antsy about my makeup more than anything. I've never ever had my makeup done by someone else that I actually liked. I never had it professionally done per se, just by a random MUA at the MAC counter. So, perhaps I'll wind up doing it myself if I don't like what I'll see. I'm such a makeup fanatic! But, I'm a total mess when it comes to doing my own hair that's for sure! :rotfl:

:cool1: CONGRATULATIONS!
:cool1:

I am meeting with my WP for a site visit on our family vacation this November. My VR is planned for November 24th of 2008. Call WDW. My Planner is Bill and he's magnificent. We are in contact often. He's always quick to answer my emails. I've asked 100s of questions. Once you've called and made the contact, you'll be able to email them (where you seem more comfortable).

Enjoy the planning.:grouphug:

Congrats! One step at a time. You want to have fun on the vacation as well! The one thing to remember is that these guys do this everyday. They are used to working long distance b/c their income depends on it. Find out what the top 3 things for you are and then do that. I did the hair and makeup trial and then shot our engagement pictures with Randy. I managed to get two birds with one stone. Make sure you bring examples of what you like in hair styles/makeup and in photos! Congrats again!

Aha! The 8th is the date I was leaning towards!

We were planning on honeymooning is WDW anyways from 12/8-12/22, and we going to just extend our trip to have the ceremony first thing. Oh well. I'll just move it to another day, since Randy is one of the only factors I am sure about!

Mermaid_Ariel: :yay: We can be planning buddies. Just to put another notch on the things we have in common, Ariel is my fav!

I think there are a few December 2008 Escape brides out there... yoohooooo

The only real extra cost I am going for it the Randy package, everything else I would like to keep to the minimum. Flowers aren't really my thing, so I'm no help there... I'm a bit of a "black thumb", flowers/plants beware!

Although, I still need to call the planners... I would prefer a guitarist rather than the violinist. Not sure if thats extra, I bought that Disney Weddings CD, and it really got me in the mood.

My honey thinks I'm crazy making all these plans right now, especially when I start to ask him about music and cake flavors... "For our wedding 13 months away, do you want raspberry mousse or bavarian cream or white chocolate mousse or....":rotfl:

My wedding is on December 8, 2008 too, so I just wanted to say hi to you guys! :goodvibes I'm a custom though.. but I'm the one that booked Randy.. :rolleyes1 Forgive me? I knew how wonderful he is and I just had to have him! :) Happy planning!!

Dont be overwhelmed... it only gets more hectic as the day gets closer... I'm under 75 days, yikes!

Congratulations and happy planning! We're all here for ya if you need anything!

i'm jealous of you girls with the december weddings!!! christmas time is so beautiful at disney! don't stress now!!! everything will work itself out!!!

HolyCow! I forgive you.
I suspected is was a DISer!
At least now I know, and know for sure, and can move on!!! Maybe 12/9... or maybe push it another week and do 12/15... 12/15 sounds nice.

Preface this with saying that it is just from a guy. I'm searching for information for anniversaries and stumbled across this.

A recommendation from 20 years in the future. You won't remember all these details about your wedding day, why you chose a particular color, did you wear gloves or not, who shoudl you invite...the detail can make you crazy. Keep it simple and keep the focus on the purpose of the day - each other and a celebration of the start of your lives together. Everything else is negotiable.
