After a wonderful holiday at POR in late June, its taken me all this time to get over the 'OMG I'm home' blues and be able to start reading the boards again. It has been helped by the fact that we have just decided to go again in 2010 for our Silver Wedding Anniversary and spend 25 (yes 25!) nights in Orlando probably split between Universal and WDW. So, as the title states, the planning is starting all over again and with it comes the many questions, so here's the first.....

We want to go to a different hotel and we are looking at Wilderness Lodge. We know there is boat transport to/from Magic Kingdom but is there also boat transport to/from Downtown Disney as I hate having to get the bus if we want a drink?

:rotfl: I read that and thought 25 nights that's sooo long you're sooo lucky - then realised we're going for 21 days for our wedding!

Congratulations! Good luck with the planning. You could probably stay in 3 or 4 hotels at WDW in that time

:0)

You can't get a boat from WL to DTD :( Different waterway's. The Wilderness Lodge is a wonderful romantic resort :) How about splitting your trip with WL, a universal resort and then a DTD resort ?

If you stay at the WL you can tour the bar's around the monorails resorts :)

If you stayed at POR before and want a boat to DTD, how about POFQ? Or SSR? Or OKW?

How wonderful to go for 25 nights :)

:) 25 nights sounds like heaven. Happy planning

We almost always go for 21 nights - a fortnight just isn't long enough! Even though it sounds like a long time, there will still be some things you won't have time to do. It's the perfect excuse for a return visit! :goodvibes

I think 3 weeks is the ideal length because you can fit in some quieter days. We don't tend to stop when we go for a fortnight.

That good advice Bev. Will nor this for our planning :)

We've done 3 weeks before as well and it was pure heaven, some days we even managed to do something called 'relaxing'!!! which we never manage to do on a fortnights holiday. We decided on 25 nights as its our 25th Anniversary and we decided 1 night for each year married. We're thinking about starting off at the Hard Rock Hotel for a few nights then moving onto Disney for the remainder. We did look at POFQ but we wanted something in a different location and as its a special occasion we thought we'd go up a standard of hotel. DH also wants us to renew our vows out there but I need to do some investigation into Disney's cost and terms & conditions before I commit to that. It would be nice to do it at somewhere like Seaworld or Discovery Cove (more investigating to do!). We also want to do a balloon trip and some form of behind the scenes/trainer for a day thing at either Seaworld or Discovery Cove.

Kaylee, I like the idea of using the monorails as our transport. It not only opens up the other hotels, but EPCOT as well without having to drive.

So much to plan and only 4yrs 10mths to do it in!

I have read a couple of bad reviews re balloon trips on these forums. One recently in Wilmabride's last trip reports.

Discovery Cove would be a lovely and unique option to spend the day.

DH & I went on a balloon trip this last December and loved it! :lovestruc In fact, we plan to go again soon and maybe bring DD if she is old enough next time. Nothing beats gliding through the clouds! :cloud9:
