Not even a Vera Bradley mini messenger that goes across the body and zips shut.

Thats the consences from what I've read. Why take the chance...

The only bags allowed on FJ are fanny packs. The small cross body bags like the VB mini hipsters are definitely not allowed on FJ, nor are they allowed on Men in Black or Mummy. My VB mini hipster was smaller (and flatter) than my fanny pack, but they made me put the VB mini hipster in a locker the first day, so I just used the fanny pack on the other days (if I carried more than would fit in my pockets). My advice is to invest in some cargo shorts/capris/pants. They held everything that normally fits in my VB mini hipster (camera, phone, and a divider thingy for my tickets/ID, credit cards/little cash).

Oh yes, you can also carry one of those neck lanyards with a pocket thingy on the end. Just stick it down the neck of your blouse on rides where it might fly around.

Thanks for the info. I guess we'll go ultra light on our IOA day.

Although we've not personally used them, from what I can tell the lockers are not a bad option--if you know the trick, which is to enter the locker area from the backside in Filch's before entering the main queue. They're free for a time, determined by the current wait time on FJ.

The ride basically feels like you're being tossed around Hogwarts by your ankles (and I loved it, I rode it 9 times when I was there), so they're not messing around when they say no loose articles.

I kept my camera/wallet/phone in my pockets, but make sure those are secure too, because if they're not there's definitely a chance they can fly out of your pockets too.

There is the little storage bin in the back of the seat. Most everyone forgets it exists, though. It's just big enough for a camera/wallet/phone.
