First grab that glass of water. You really want to taper on the food side, also. Nice deep breaths and before you know you will be standing the Epcot Parking lot with a medal around your neck

I right there with you, I'm having trouble sleeping and I can only figure out I'm excited about the half!

I am very excited and nervous too. I find that the water helps a great deal and I intermittently ask myself if I am really hungry and walk away. Mints help me too just to keep my mind of eating. Now if I can just find a way to make myself sleep....

A whole weekend of gazing at the beautiful WISH princesses in their cute running outfits, (Deep Contented Sigh MMMMMMMMMMM) Life is good.:cloud9:

It's gonna be fine, look at it as a 13.1, or 26.2 or 39.3 mile mobile party. It's Disney guys we can do this thing, yes we can.:cool1:

Party Panda:hippie:

Flavored gums help a lot too. DOn't go hungry, though. We will be burning a ton of calories next week and need teh fuel. Just try to make healthy choices if you feel you are eating out of control.

I'm with you...I'm scared to death of not finishing in time! If I munch on another cookie I'm going to turn blue and start saying, "Me like cookies".

Just think of it as another training run with a few friends....at the happiest place on earth! :earboy2:

Remember, you're not competing against anyone. You're not going to win the race*. I've given up on that idea a long time ago. :teeth: It's all about the medal for me.

As others have said, drink that water and maybe try some sugarless gum instead of the food. I, too, have been eating everything in site and it's due to other stress right now in my life and not the marathon of all things. Go figure. ;)

*Note: If you go to the parks after the race or the next few days, wear your medal. Some people will actually believe you won the race. And, really, you did at that point. :)

Yep, with you on the nervous eating. Trying to direct my madness towards healthy options and water! And oddly enough, gingersnap cookies.

Having any anxiety dreams yet? I couldn't find the start of the race last night... then I couldn't find the medals. :rolleyes1

*doh that's why I cant get to sleep before 3AM - of course I cant get up before ten either!!

I'm really NOT nervous... not at all, just because the weather is below zero, and I dont have a treadmill and I havent put on the running shoes, and i dont like any of the running shorts I have and I'm not sure If I have enough things to bring just in case, because I like to be prepared, even though I can picture the entrance to run into the magic kingdom and an evil CM closing the gate when he sees my bib number because yada yada yada yada

I tend to run on and on when I get nervous.... :sad2:

:rotfl2: see if only my mouth could do the running - no problemo!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm just not right!

Yep! We are ready to Parrrrr tayyy!

Hydration week--Drink lots of water time. It will keep your mind off the event b/c you will be running to pee all the time.

oh great, another question!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

never mind... :rotfl2:

I am eating a ton too! :confused3

Darn those 75% off boxes of chocolates!

Must drink more water, must drink more water!

Sorry I've been hiding, but I'm so nervous. Getting up on time, not walking too much at the parks the day before, packing everything for the run no matter the weather, what to take for breakfast, when to eat, when to go to the restroom, having stomach problems during my run, can I really run that far, just one of a million questions running through my mind.......

I'm with you! I can't believe the time has finally come. I'm so nervous!

Add me to the list of nervous-but-excited!!! I've been having the munchies, too, but DH (a marathon vet) has been patiently shoving carrots in my directions. I've been tempted to make brownies, but we leave for Disney (gulp!) tomorrow!! (We couldn't take the week off work after the marathon, so we're headed down early.)

I am looking forward to the celebratory atmosphere and like the description of it as a mobile party. That helps with the nerves a little. So even though I've had setbacks, forcing me to scale back my plans, I'm still planning/hopeful that I'll finish the Goofy healthy & injury free. And I keep telling myself, baby steps. When I first started, I said I'd be happy just to get on the treadmill the first time. Then I said that I'd be happy to do four miles. Then it was eight. Then it was that I'd be content just to reach the taper stage. Now I'm just looking just to get to the race in time to start the half!

Now if someone can just convince me that I don't need a PB&J shake from 50s Prime Time Cafe this week....

Thanks for admitting the nervousness, btw! It helps to know I'm not alone. :thumbsup2

So I guess this is a bad thread to come to if I'm stuffing a Subway sandwich in my mouth, hu?
