First of all, why in the world are they sending a code to my four year old? :) If we actually wanted to use the code, could we, since it is in her name? Actually, come to think of it, she gets all of our Disney Cruise Line stuff too......Anyway....

I am very unclear about the deal here. Is it ONLY for the dates listed in the flyer? We are booked for a time that is not listed (and not likely to change our dates) so I figure that it isn't very useful to us.

That being said, is there a way on the Disney site to play around with the code, and the dates that it IS available for? I'd love to see what kind of deals we can get for one of the dates later in the year! I just wonder if we can pull up the dates and enter the code on the Disney site (although I've never seen a spot for a code) to get an idea of the prices, or do we have to go through a TA or Disney's TA's?

are you getting these in emails or snail mail?? Does your 4 yo have an EMAIL??

You can't enter the code online, you call 407-W-DISNEY and they can check and see what is available at the discount.

Any flyers or e-mails I have seen are pretty specific about the dates. I would figure what you see is what you are offered.

The code is generally attached to a household, not a specific person in the household even though it may be addressed to that person. So yes, you could use it.

Also, code are attached to specific date blocks (and the offer should state the blocks). If your travel falls outside of that date block, you would not be able to utilize the discounts. From my understanding, you can't enter any pin codes on the site...CRO needs to apply the code.
As far as receiving a deal for later in the year...while there might be a public code released in the future for various travel dates throughout the year, don't hold your breath for receiving another pin code. It's very random on how often, or how rarely, you receive one.

She got a snail mail. She is a pretty advanced kid, but no e-mail yet. :)

Wonder if I called Disney, they would switch her name with mine? Not that I care that the mail comes in her name, but it seems odd since she is only four. :)

I'm sorry! I guess I wasn't too clear about the code. I figured that since our trip was outside of the dates that we wouldn't be able to use it, but if the deal was good enough, I might be able to convience my husband to return later in the year so I was just curious as to whether or not I could play around with dates within the times to see what sort of rates to get. I didn't want to bug CRO with it. No biggie!

Sorry about that!

Ah I see what you mean!
Use this as your guideline...
Rack rates for rooms:
http://www.mousesavers.com/roomrates2007.html
Use these prices and take off 40% and that will give you the pricing.
If you're unsure what dates the specific seasons fall into (i.e. value season, regular, peak, holiday), here's a link that tells you the dates:

THe OP is not allone. My grandson has been getting snail-mail from Disney since he was 6 (he's 13 now). Yes the boy is on the mailing list. It could be because he was 6 when he got his first AP. Or because he went to the first pin event in 2000 and was a listed participant. This time around my son (my address) got the 30% off the room discount, my DIL (same name different address) was offered the 40% discount and actually given a pin code over the phone in case she needed to call back and has never booked a trip with WDW in the past and has only gone to WDW once 6 years ago and stayed in our room. Us on the other hand never get these mailings either way and we are listed on everything.

Everything we get from Disney is in my DH's name and he never books anything. I always worry because if something ever happened to him it could mess up things if we wanted to go without him, ie. the cruise. The only reason I can figure for this is that it is alphabetical, his first name is Daniel so he is before anyone else on the reservation.
(that sounds shallow, i meant if there was a work emergency)

My mom's BF got the 40% off. My family and I are living with him and my mom until our house is finished.

Was that 40% off supposed to be mine, but since its his address it came addressed to him ,now I can't use it. He hasn't been to WDW in 20 years.

Ticks me off! If they're going to do stupid crap like that, address it to occupant or resident. Or maybe they do it that way so more people can't use it.
