Garage sale is over - put the remainder on the lawn with a "free" sign and many folks have stopped to pick up items.. Had to laugh at one couple though.. They wanted to know if "free" meant the stuff was free.. I couldn't resist - told them "No - those are trick signs.. Once you load your truck up I'll come running out of the house and tell you that you owe me $100.." LOL
My sister left for Florida this morning.. That was very emotional for me and I've cried about it off and on all day.. She's done so much for us - don't know how I'll ever repay her kindness.. Her house is sold - closing will probably be within a week or so.. We're moving my DH over to my DD's house tomorrow night, but I have to stay at my sister's awhile longer to do some cleaning; wait for the guy who is supposed to take all the stuff in the garage and leftover furniture and appliances; etc.. I hope to be at my DD's by Halloween as my granddaughter is terribly excited over the fact that I'll be able to trick-or-treat with her this year..
My son-in-law will be starting the roof this weekend.. I had to go get the building permit the day before yesterday, so we're all set to go.. As soon as the roof is done, we'll start to gut the inside of the house..
I've been having a bit of fun with a bunch of old furniture that will be in my bedroom in my DD's house.. This stuff was TOTALLY nasty - a bed, dresser, antique/vintage telephone stand, bookcase, wall cabinet, etc.. Well - I decided to paint them all white (I've always wanted an all white bedroom) and then I went and got those rub-on stencils.. Decided to go with birdhouse/garden themes and you can't even begin to imagine how AWESOME this furniture looks! I'm hoping when I get settled over there I can take photos with my digital camera and maybe someone here can help me post them..
Of course my life wouldn't be "my life" without a bit of bad news.. I hurt my back somehow and I can't put any weight at all on my right leg.. Luckily I had some crutches here that I didn't get rid of so I've been hobbling around on them.. I've got to say that it's VERY painful, but I had to let my health insurance go and the health insurance that I hope to qualify for now takes 90 days to get approved.. If push comes to shove and I'm not any better by morning I guess I'll have to go to the ER and see if they'll bill me or something.. In order to get upstairs to my bedroom I had to literally crawl up the stairs and I just have WAY yo much to do in the next few days..
Other than my back things are going good though..
Once I'm settled at my DD's I have to get busy cancelling our Disney hotel reservations; getting our airline credits; and figuring out what to do with all of those MVMCP tickets we already purchased for December 2nd.. No time for that right now though - still have more packing and sorting to do..
Life sure threw us a curve ball this time around, but I'm bound and determined that we're going to come out of this just fine - maybe even BETTER than before! Life is what you make of it, and I'm going to make it the best it can possibly be..
Be chatting with you all soon!
